Yes and they are right in a way about the financial aspect he has brought in a strategy and plan which is much better than before and we are now signing young and talented players for cheap instead of buying overrated primadonna's for overpriced overinflated fees and we a lot better off for it.
But what annoy's every Newcastle fan about him is that when he sell's players it goes straight into his pocket instead of going back into the team.
I would have been happy if he spent 1/3 of the 35 million this summer but we have not spent a penny.

Re: Gabriel Obertan
obertan has had a pretty decent pre season at united this year, looked quite sharp. from what i heard newcastle are only taking him on loan for a year. i think he would be quite good for newcastle.

Fixed for truth
I hope we sign another striker though, Ba cannot be relied upon to score the goals we need especially considering he is made of glass.

No it wont be until next week from what i hear it will be done next week and basically everyone is running the story and The Chronicle( Local Newcastle paper) are running it and they usually only run stories that are pretty much fact.
And they say there's going to be more on it in the evening paper tonight.

i was just thinking bt wingers, soo many available that are better than oberhead, like pizzi, vereirnha, holtby, that korean sunderland bought, i think you guys are suffering for leaving things to the last moment

Sad, but true.
If we buy a CF i would actually like the middle of my team.....
Krul
S. Taylor Coloccini
Tiote Cabaye
Ben Arfa
New CF
S. Taylor Coloccini
Tiote Cabaye
Ben Arfa
New CF
Unfortunatly the wings and and full back area's are shit in comparison ( Enrique does'nt count because he's obviously going to leave.)

Re: Gabriel Obertan
Why would we sign Obertan!? Surely we could get someone better than that. Giovani from Spurs for example the fact that he can't get a game with them is a joke.

Ashley is obsessed with french lads
Mind you i like the signings so far, there just has'nt been anywhere near enough of them and yes we should be looking at someone alot better than Obertan

Re: Gabriel Obertan
I like Obretan and I Think it's a good signing. IT's pretty cheap, and the guy can and needs to improve. He is no way near a finished product, but if he was he would cost a lot more.
He brings tons of speed and power which are things you can't teach, but unfortunatley he has no end product, which you can teach. He kind of reminds me of Guitierez (I know the spelling is bad) from the last two seasons for you.
If he could develop some crossing/passing and shooting abilities then he would be a great player.
The good thing about him is that he is a one man counter attack.

This just reminded me of a Goal.com editorial. It's name was "Change out wide is Ober-due"
The guy said that SAF has to bench Nani and play Obertan

That's unlucky for Newcastle.
Tiote is a key player for them.

Anymore known on the lad from Ligue 1 watchers and Man Utd fans/watchers would be very much appreciated.
Has pace, is a decent dribbler..but.his biggest setback is that he doesn't know when to pass, when to make the right run, when to shoot, in a nutshell- no football brain.
In his time at United, he has suffered confidence issues. He has had chances to get a good game at the biggest stage but has always flattered to decieve, despite always shining in pre season and in the reserves. Never has been able to make that next step and take advantage of his chance, his progress has been at a snail's pace since he arrived too.
I don't think he is United quality, but i think and hope he will make it at Newcastle. i wish him all the best.

Re: Gabriel Obertan
He is a skillful winger with pace. What he lacks though is football knowledge. He tries to do too much alot of the time. I think with experience he could become a good player.
