Re: Spain NT discussion
Thanks bill, I havent followed NT under just now... almost no one from Barca just goes to show the state of things with us lol....
Still though any big name player who has the ability and history with the NT team tend to get selected in big tournaments, despite him playing little, I would have thought he'd still be selected, even just purely from a experience and influence POV. Maybe they realize hes unwilling to step aside since hes aging and may create a negative factor, or something similar, pure guessing.

Re: Spain NT discussion
Did nobody watch Ramos vs Chelsea? The man is cooked. Finished. Playing on 1 leg.
If he ever does recover, that would be one thing, but in his current state he'd be a liability.
I dont know how good Eric Garcia is or isnt, but neither do you. Luis Enrique perhaps has seen enough to be convinced.

If Ramos hadn't been selfish, he could've recovered in peace and been available way before the Chelsea game and then gotten selected for Spain. But he brought this on himself. Nacho on the other hand deserved to be called up the rest are either out inuured or not good enough even for our bench nvm the NT

Busquets plays as if he was in his prime for Spain. Gavi with a great game.
Really last time busi played this good for barca was probably 6 years ago
Lucho is a coach!, and he doesnt call up anyone from madrid which is an added value

Why do you guys keep adding fuel to this nonsense? There are no Madrid players that are worth calling up.

Re: Spain NT discussion
Yeah, busquets for national team is still a different beast. He could not be recognized after that euro. As for gavi, when the lineup was declared i thought it was a bad decision to play this kid so quickly in an important match like this. Lol
I think italy was overconfident with their recent succces. The way they conceded it looked like they mistook this spain team with barca :d

imo either one of Vasquez and Nacho, Isco or Asensio deserve the call up instead of Sergi freaking Roberto.
Gavi and Pedri are toddlers basically yet lucho prefers them to Isco or Asensio

What is that? Is it just the coaching?
Because busquets looks like a completely different player with the NT

Wouldn't call it overconfidence, just inexperience. It was Bastoni's first big match for the national team. He should have cleared that.

Vasquez and Nacho are garbage. Asensio is as average as you can get. Isco at his best is the best spanish player but that was a few years ago. he has given up.
so i don't see why Enrique should invite any of them.

Madrid fans don't want to see any of these players starting for their club, so that should give you an idea of their level You can make a case for Asensio due to his age, but the aforementioned three are firmly in the past.

Congrats to Spain. This was a good game and a pleasurable experience. Look forward for France, if we beat Belgium, to meet in the Final. It will be a clash of styles. Deschamps plays a 6-1-3. 6 defenders - Pogba to make the long pass - that attacking trio to do what it can lol.

Re: Spain NT discussion
Here we have people taking shots at Luis Enrique suggesting he is anti Madrid, yet his first seleccion was 7 from RMadrid and only a couple from Barca. To suggest this anti attitude is plain and simple ridiculous! There simply isn’t any Spaniard at Madrid right now the warrents a callup. Hala has suggested Nacho several times yet Enrique has call him up. The issue is Enrique wants some ball handling, offensive capability from his CBs. i have to admit I at time wish Ramos was there because of his header capability as corners clearly are an issue (as is the situation at RMadrid), but you can’t call up a player who hasn’t played in ages!
You got to admire Enrique’s seleccion capabilities. Every time it’s some new additional players and generally speaking they perform. Last night there were at least 3 or 4 that I never heard of before and yet I follow Spanish NT and youth teams more than anyone here.
I too am looking forward to another France - Spain final!

Perhaps but Enrique needs some experience and vets out there. It’s basically all kids out there except for Busquets, Koke and Azpilicueta. I was impressed last night with how well Marco Alonso played, much better than his previous times.

Re: Spain NT discussion
Italy playing the exact same style as Spain helped Spain a lot IMO. They've just been doing it for far longer and, in Italy, no club team plays like that. In fact, none of the youth NT teams play like that I'd wager.
Italy is very good at it... but Spain knows how to play it better. That's why I was surprised that Italy beat Spain in the Euro. I was actually expecting a dominant Spain then; in fact, I thought Spain should have won that semi despite the game being more competitive than I imagined.
I like Italy's defenders... but Chiellinni is really great. He was missed.
And was Bernardeschi playing central striker or was I dreaming???

Re: Spain NT discussion
Yes, Bernardeschi, Chiesa, and Insigne rotated the central position since Immobile and Belotti are injured. All three went close in the first half but Insigne really missed the golden chance.
Chiellini was rested so Bastoni would get experience. The biggest mistake though wasn't Insigne's miss or Bastoni failing to clear the ball for the goal, but Bonucci getting sent off. Otherwise would have been another amazing game.

Oops looks like France won’t make it again. Re Euros, our problem was plain and simple no goal scorers. Last night was better. And yes Sports, I believe we would have won if we got to final and also this Sunday if only France could make it!

It's scandalous that Gavi gets called up, but Diaz didn't.
Spain does have a potentially exciting attack developing though. Fati, Diaz, and Gill in a 4-2-3-1 sound fun to me.

Game on Bill.
We'll see which France shows up. I have a feeling we'll play really low and suck Spain in so there's no space... with the idea that their strikers aren't good enough in very tight quarters.
Hit with the counterattack.
Tchouameni MUST play instead of Rabiot (who is a fraud). Spain need to to focus on attacking Pavard's side... because he's quite a shite defender.

Pavard is shit offensively too. He's living off that WC goal against Argentina. His only stand-out attribute is his passing technique.

That was an impressive comeback last night. I can’t wait until we get Mbappe, he was outstanding!
I feel the same way about Spain. We will control possession but you never know if the goals will come or not. With so many kids in the lineup, you never know what will happen. But either way, I’m looking forward to this game.

Re: Spain NT discussion
Quite confident against France as I dont rate them too high, talent aside.
Pedri will be a big miss but Gavi and Busquets being in prime Barça form should allow us to control the midfield if its been done the way it was v Italia.
Definitely will make up for the Euro semi-final loss.
