Which is best for football match?
Best commentators?
I actually like the english best, why? Firstly, I can understand it. Secondly, I think it's not overboard like spanish/arabic etc., but also not monotone like, lol, german.

Re: Best commentators?
In this instance Spanish and French. Otherwise I usually like Spanish commentators because they've got most passion. In that video the English commentator was deeeeeead.

Re: Best commentators?
English commentators are the best. After a goal they don't go crazy like other commentators who say 'gooooooooooooal' as long as they can hold and repeat 4-5 times. Very annoying. And in the case of Arabic commentators they say "Alaaaaaaaaah" for as long as they can.

Re: Best commentators?
when you've got "stadium feed" as an option you're not suggesting you can hear the commentary while you're in the crowd at the stadium are you?
and IMO most football comentatos are boring, Phil Gould FTW

Re: Best commentators?
Argentine/Uruguayan (Rioplatense) Spanish: (best example)
They're also by far the most entertaining while making you feel that you're in the game. Rather than simply reporting on the events in an incredibly dull fashion, the British style. Most of the commentators started off as radio commentators thus they had to make it interesting otherwise the listeners would switch to another channel. Hence, when they finally make the big step to TV they carry this energy on with them. The Brits seem to prefer to have people with experience in the sport instead, I don't know why - footballers are usually stupid and don't make many interesting observations.

Re: Best commentators?
generally it's the language of the country the league's played in since the commentators usually know their shit, so i voted spanish as i pretty much only watch la liga... plus it's good to be in contact with the language if you're trying to learn it like i am
english commentary of spanish games is absolutely shocking...

Re: Best commentators?
Mexican commentators are good in a comical sense...But if I want to watch a serious game I would definitely not choose them
Italian commentators sometimes are good....Sometimes they try to become bigger than the actual game
English commentators....Ray Hudson fcking sucks, but Tyler/Dark/Mustoe are all great

Re: Best commentators?
Italian commentators by far as their in depth knowledge and analysis is near unrivaled.
Plus they have a way of making it much more exciting as they aren't as dull as the english and don't just say goooooooooooooooooool for a minute.
The excitement is felt.

You couldn't be more right. Ray Hudson is amazing. I could listen to him broadcast a turtle race and be entertained. I watch a ton of La Liga in the states and when I have to switch from Hudson to Tommy Smith I want to cut my wrists. It's true most English announcers broadcasting La Liga are terrible, they don't know much about the league and then they just resort to talking about the EPL.
The worst is an English announcer doing a Champions League game between a Spanish and English side. IT's so biased I have to hit mute sometimes.
Also, in the states we only got Copa America in Spanish, and I love the spanish speaking announcers. They are so over the top and even though I only speak a little spanish you really don't have to understand everything as it's pretty obvious what there getting at.

Re: Best commentators?
I understand just enough Italian to absolutely love Carlo Zampa. Love that guy.
As for English, Richard Wittle and Paul Tasca are the best English language Serie A commentators.
I also like Ian Darke, Adrian Healey and Martin Tyler from ESPN.

Re: Best commentators?
Italian and Arabic, they are so passionate it's amazing. Worst are the English commentators in the CL matches, so freakin biased. Spanish as in South American are also pretty fun to hear.

I say Arabic, only because I understand them best. Other than that, I prefer English or Italian.

Re: Best commentators?
When i am in the States i have to listen to the ESPN or FSC commentators and they are sooooo boring and biased to everything US. I have nothing against the USA since i am a citizen but some of the commentators cant stop talking about The national team or US players!
When in Poland i try to go to most of the games!!! , but when watching on TV the commentators are fun, they crack jokes, sometimes make fun of national team(good humor), and very knowledgeable as well.

Re: Best commentators?
Mexican commentators doing a game with a lot of french players or a french team kills me. Saw the PSG-Boca game and i couldn't stop laughing... ESPN Deportes.

Re: Best commentators?
I was going to vote for Catalan, as I love that commentator. Is called the Josep Maria Puyal "the teacher" (of other catalan commentators), but he wasn't very brilliant in that goal and when I saw the "stadium feed" one, had to vote for them.
It just gives me goosebumps to hear the "ooooh"when Messi breaks Nani's waist, the "aaaaah" of excitment when he enters the box and the final roaring and ecstatic "Goaaaaaaaaaaaal".
Barça fans at its best. The number 12.

Re: Best commentators?
Some of the best commentator goals ever in Catalan:
Josep Maria Puyal:
Pizzi, sos macanudo!!!
And Joan Maria Pou, also a favourite commentator:
(unitl the beat starts it was a real narration of the goal on the radio!).

Re: Best commentators?
The Arabic, Spanish, Italian, and the French do it for me here.
The French one was perfect out of these, though.
For Spanish I'm simply too used to the Mexican commentators here in the states.
Here's an Example:
