do you think that...
Re: Mister X
With Aquaman we will not be much better, not even near CL material.
Our midfield is same as DEAD.

Re: Mister X
Everyone says our midfield is so "horrible" as it is right now is it's a very good mid. Mr. X is just an added bonus

Re: Mister X
Oh no, I don't want Aquillani. He can be a genius in one game and then spend the next three months on the surgery room, Montolivo would be a much better and cheaper option. Aquillani is valued at 17 million and Montolivo at 10-12 million.

Re: Mister X
Our midfield is good, but not great. Here is the problem:
NAME: STRENGTH - PASSING - SPEED - STAMINA - CREATIVITY
Gattuso: 9 - 6 - 6 - 8 - 5
Seedorf: 5 - 7 - 4 - 6 - 7
Flamini: 7 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 4
Boateng: 8 - 7 - 7 - 9 - 6
Van Bommel: 7 - 9 - 5 - 6 - 5
Ambrosini: 7 - 6 - 5 - 6 - 5
Emanuelson: 5 - 6 - 8 - 7 - 6
El Shaarawy: Unknown quantity
Note that these ratings are just hastily done, general scores to show the general lack of a player with speed, passing and creativity. We have plenty of defensive types, and box-to-box, but a distinct lack of a more attacking, flamboyant type of player, who can readily distribute the ball to our strikers.

Re: Mister X
They're hastily done so I won't make too much of an issue of it, however Van Bommel's passing is being over-rated if he's considered a 9, especially if Seedorf is only a 7. Our old Dutch master's passing is still wonderful on his day, however I also don't want to count only his run of form that was essential to clinching the scudetto and even then his passing might be considered inconsistent, particularly in the derby, however that's simply due to his role in distributing the ball, so it's fair enough that we don't consider any of our midfielders to be consistently great distributors.
I still believe that Montolivo is weak defensively, however if he's taking Seedorf's place on the left then this it's not an issue concerning our stability and his quality in possession would be welcomed and he's surprisingly adept at beating his man and getting into the box. I can think of five assists he should have had last season wasted by Gilardino alone from runs into the box. I don't believe he was the envisioned Mr. X, though it's possible he will be the only additional signing until the January window.
Also hi I-no, welcome back from your holiday.

Re: Mister X
El Sharawaay is a unknown quantity, well in terms of Serie A performance, but from what i've seen the kid is a genius. He is perfectly suited as a CAM, so this pining for Ganso strikes me as strange. You should give him a chance first, he's a phenomena!
As for signing another more creative player in centre midfield, I don't think you can go wrong with Aquilani or Montolivo; But the price and value for money is key in saying that.
Aquilani is more creative and while his injury proneness is massively overblown (He didn't struggle at all for us in that regard) he does lack consistency somewhat. He is also not a player to stamp his mark authoritatively in big games. Montolivo in this regard is slightly better in my opinion.
A trick was maybe missed with Lazzari going to Fiorentina for just €3M. Another player, admittedly left of field and without Mr.X credentials or prestige is Radja Nainggolan. A extremely good player who in conjuction with another player could round out the midfield nicely.
I think a modest signing or two is key in this area for Milan though.

montolivo would just be an extra signing, the "champion" is supposed to arrive in the final days of augustSt_Nick09_of_Goal wrote:Is montolivio a champion? that was the term Galliani used right?

If we could Montolivo or Aquilani, plus another Champion that would be an EPIC transfer window.

Im praying to Abate that Galliani realizes we need a good CAM in top of a CM.Boateng is crap if we want CL success..Doubt he would start in any other top team

I think Robinho is very good at the Trequartista position, but maybe that's just me.

He is doing pretty good, and is bleeding for the shirt, which I didn't expect from him. He is moving a lot and is always ready to receive the ball.
Cassano just doesn't seem fit at any time of the year to do any running at all.
Boateng isn't technical enough I think to fill that role, so he is not as solid in that department actually. Seedorf can step in, but he can turn out like Cassano at times, being too slow to react before the defenders are all over him.

Why don't we just play Abate whenever there is a problem area? CF, ST, CM, CB, GK - no problem for Godbate.

Re: Mister X
Prince is one of Allegri's favorite players (besides Van Bommel and Thiago Silva) there is no chance in my mind that he will be benched. I think he is going to start at either RCM or AM.

Re: Mister X
If we bought prince to play the tq position, we should not have bought him at all.
I see us selling Cassano, buying Balotelli, and playing Robinho as Tq with boateng playing as mezzale

Allegri tried Robinho as CAM in the first few games of the season. Remember how it went? Not so well... Sure he worked hard but he doesn't have the vision or creativity to be a CAM no matter how much skill he has and how high his work rate is.
