Wow, this is the homer post of the year.
First of all, I do not think it is debatable that Man City have the deepest team in the EPL. Second of all, they have the best Midfield and Strikers in the league, TALENT WISE.
There starting midfield of Silva, De Jong, Yaya, and Adam Johnson/Milner is the best in the EPL hands down.
There strikers: Tevez, Kun Aguero, Balotelli, Dzeko, is also the best in the EPL, and if they get rid of Tevez then I would be willing to discuss other teams, but right now I don't think you can argue with that.
I would say there defense is probably 3rd best, but they are so deep that you have to take that into consideration and they really are not that far off seeing as there defensive record last year was outstanding.
As for there keeper, I would rate him at about the same level as the other top four teams, sure some of the other may be marginally better, but the difference is really not big enough to rank them.

During the games you mentioned the midfield were defenders maybe that's why he is mistaking them for being the best.

Sure, they have a lot of depth...but you should only be ranking their starting XI, if you want to see who has the "best" squad. Joe Hart, while excellent, is no match for Cech. There is definitely a sizable difference between their levels. Reina is also definitely better than Hart while De Gaea is just as good as Hart if not only just a little tiny bit better.
Arsenal have a midfield of Song, Wilshere and Fabregas. I'm sorry, but I don't see how City's midfield competes with that. If you factor in the wingers, they still don't come out on top.
As for strikers, Drogba, RVP and Tevez are all on the same level imho. Well, perhaps Drogba has something to prove after last season, and Caroll's injuries have made him a bit of a forgotten man but, in any case, the difference between the teams is by no means big.
I just fail to see how City are just "THAT MUCH BETTER" than all other teams. Once again, I find myself agreeing with Gil. His assessment of the teams is pretty close to mine.

the most overrated team here along with RM.
They will finish either 3rd or 4th in the league and a last 16 or last 8 finsh in the CL.
BTW GIL, Utd have the best CB's in the league...otherwise, fair list.

Re: How far will City go in EPL next season?
I think their abilities as coaches matters more here than their abilities as managers. As a coach, Wenger has lost quite a bit of his ability it seems and I see Gil's list as quite fair in that respect.

Re: How far will City go in EPL next season?
First of all if you want to compare midfielders why don't you do it for real.
Yaya Toure is better the Wilshire, if you argue this then you have no brain. This is not about potential, Yaya is better in all aspects RIGHT NOW.
De Jong is better then Song, not even close.
Silva is better then Nasri (most overrated player in the world) Really didn't do anything the second half of the season and has the body of a ten year old boy.
And finally Fabregas is better then Johnson/Milner by a very wide margin.
Arsenal fans overrate there players to no end. At the end of the day what has any of there player accomplished internationally or domestically?

No, they don't.
Vidic and Ferdinand are World Class of course but Jones and Smalling are both inexperienced footballers regardless of their potential.
Overall Terry, David Luiz, Alex and Ivanovic is a better set of CB's.
Van Persie is World Class and is the best CF in the League when fit and on form but if he gets injured none of your strikers are good enough replacements.Raptorgunner wrote:

This post is a perfect example of what I am talking about. Arsenal fans have this superiority complex when in Man City's second year of these players being together they finished above Arsenal in the table and won the FA cup. That is more then this group of Arsenal players have accomplished in the last 5-6 years.
If you could explain what you laughed at that would help. I think Arsenal has a very big shock coming to them this year the only people who can't see it is Wenger and there fans.

Your hate for Arsenal goes real far, Arsenal has the most dominate Midfield in EPL and if you argue that you have no brain. Its a proven fact that Arsenal has the most dominate Midfield.

Silva was pretty much the creative force in Man City's team. He did what most spanish midfielders do and linked midfield and attack beautifully. Most Spanish midfielder's don't put up big number's, but everything runs through them. He helped his team WIN SOMETHING, you know what Nasri CANT DO.
The whole ten year old boy comment is because he is weak and prone to injury like most of there players. It's why they get bossed by a relegated team in the final of the Carling Cup and against most strong teams they play.

What do they dominate?? Not Birmingham City. The fold like a cheap suit at the end of every season. They were terrible in when it mattered last year. Not one shot against BArcelona in the knockout game, losing to a relegated team in the Carling cup final, and when the league came down to it, they crumbled in the end and were awful the last ten games of the season, not to mention none of them have won ANYHTING.
Do these things not matter???????
