why do you need a defensive coach when you've got Arsene Wenger?

Or sign Viera or Campbell as tactical coaches, and show the kids how it's done.

IMO, our pressing was impressive last season. Ignoring the second half implosion, our midfield was tight and organized when it wanted to be (such as against Barca, both games).

Campbell is at arsenal now anyway.. As long as he isn't the other defender we have been promised, it would be nice to see him join the staff..

nothing to do with the coaches.... Just the players, surely they know when you play high up the pitch as we do it's important you press the ball. we do press the ball but its an half arsed attempt most of the time.I remember when we played chelski and yanited... We hustled and hurried them now why can't we do that in every game

It’s about quality IMO.
Certain systems require certain kind of players.
We are lucky to have midfielders like Xavi and Iniesta.
Arsenal can play their game with the same effect if they have quality players.
I remember Arsenal with Vieira, Campel hell even Zilberto Silva and they were doing just fine

Quality is not limited to skill.
To play high pressing you need strength, stamina, desire to work etc, those attributes I consider quality as well.
It’s about efficiency as well. You need to be efficient when marking and know how to cover your man.
You can see it in Barca too when Xavi and Iniesta is missing.

As for Arsenal, they don’t need to change their game, they only have to find players (a couple of them) that can elevate it.

good point bro. the barca pressing game is wat make them have more possesion bcoz they presure the opponets to lose the ball. its abt the willings and the hunger 2 have the ball bck wen u lose it. we nid that. our guys are a bit lazy

To me, its more than just the pressing and the hunger for the ball. those guys are incredibly fit. drugs or not, they are amazing to watch. Barca dont just outpass,press their opponents, but they always outrun them. with us, we seem to have a lot of lazy players. in most of their games, they press for about 75 mins, while we only do it for 25-50 minutes. the Barca game at home comes to mind. most people seem to forget that for most of that game, we did not press that much, but only in certain periods,like in the first 15 minutes of that game, while Barca presses continously until that crucial last 15 minutes, they also did the same in 2010. so to me, its not about us not being able to press like them, but about the fitness of those guys that makes their pressing look more impressive compared to us. so instead of stealing their defensive coaches, we should still their fitness ones and somehow steal their fitness programmes.

Oh, that's a definite. Anyone's fitness programmes, really, since ours are total shit.

Then we go steal Bayern's chief medical staff (they heal Robben in miracle time).
