The Copa do Nordeste is returning in 2013, with 16 clubs from the Northeastern region (Pernambuco, Bahia, Ceará, etc...). The format will be 4 groups of 4 teams each + playoffs.

The clubs will qualify to the tournament via the state league performance.

The winner of Copa do Nordeste will qualify for Copa do Brasil or Copa Sudamericana.

Apparently Jadson was offered to Palmeiras but Felipão vetoed him because Jadson was not on his shortlist (unlike Wagner). Frizzo is supposedly angry at Felipão because of that.

Grêmio are apparently trying to bring Antolín Alcaraz from Wigan, Jonathan Bottinelli, the San Lorenzo defender who is brother of Flamengo's Bottinelli and they want to keep Escudero.

Small Santa Fe Fútbol Club from Argentina are now run by Brazilian club Corinthians and thus have been renamed Sport Club Corinthians Santa Fe.

The club is amateur, for now, but Corinthians want to place them in the Argentine League pyramid soon.

It seems this is going to be Brazil's XI against Gabon this Thursday:

Neto, Fábio, Luisão, David Luiz, Adriano; Lucas Leiva, Fernandinho, Hernanes; Willian, Hulk, Kléber

Worst Brazilian Line-up I've probably ever seen.

Bruno Cortes is the best LB available to play for Brazil. We'll see if his good form will continue into February.

Romelu is a good Volante, a reason why Vasco is where it is right now, along with Eder Luiz.

and idk who Erekson is.

Cortês has good speed, stamina, above average crossing, good dribbling, but isnt a solid defender.

Rômulo is that kind of smart and hardworking DM, haven't watched him much either.

Elkesson is an AM with a direct style, likes shooting and beating his man.

Btw, best LB available? scratch

he's marginally better than Adriano, Andre Santos and ???

He defends better then those 2 and seems to be more effective on attack those 2.

Adriano is a better defender.

Filipe Luís is above all others defense wise.

Filipe Luis isn't a good attacker though, which is the most important attribute within any Brazilian system.

Adriano is pretty atrocious... he has the Dani Alves syndrome.. great for Barce, horrible for Brazil... speaking of Dani Alves... he should also be dropped forever from the NT.

call-up Rafinha imo.

Fabio is good, solid defensively and offensively, its better having a balance since we already have the best attacking FB in the world in the left flank. If Alves performed defensively how he performs for Barca it would work, too bad hes considered the best in the world and will never get benched(copa America was an exception since Maicon was beasting)
