I honetsly tought this guy was some limited, one dimensional winger.

Come on now, dont be them silly cules always scapegoating players... like them cules who like 2 months ago wanted Lewand out said hes useless etc... lol...De Jong on the field at least has always been great n gives his all... I dont care about all the contract stuff I read, hes still one of the captains too. The only thing ppl hang on to is his so called high wage which isnt even his fault lol? The rise of the likes of Casado means ppl forget how important he was last few yrs... same thing happened with Raphinha, Dembele, etc...

I'm not sure what the problem is with FDJ. Some say he needs surgery but for some reason doesnt get one. There are reports he trains at 50% and plays at 50% because of some injury-type issue that he hasn't properly treated.

He's very suspect defensively even when fit but now he's just a burden most of the time.

I'm not scapegoating him but I'm not going to lie and not tell what I see. He had a very good sub last time around and an amazing 2nd half in el clasico and that's about it. If the problem is his ankle, then get the freaking surgery. If lack of commitment, he deserves at least some blame for half-assing !

For a small period rivaldo gave us problems, and then Eto'o I felt gave us and casillas problems from day one, even when he was at mallorca and we were paying part of his wages, the fool loved scoring against us. Yea Eto'o was insane for quite a few yrs n top scorer... Real paying part of his wages? Didnt know much back then so Real were at some point gonna get him or something?

No we weren't. I think we were paying part of his wages at mallorca and by 04/05 there was still an obsession to start raul and we had r9 so he naturally wasn't coming back to madrid (not to mention he didn't have the best of experience when he first came to madrid from cameroon. But that part is on Lorenzo Sanz).

Him going to Barcelona made sense, but the way he was scoring against us at mallorca I wanted us to sign him. I think when he was there we didn't have the best of records against mallorca, they might have beaten us like 5-1 or 4 nil at one point

Didnt know much at all about La Liga back then apart from watching the ocassional match or just highlights... intriguing stuff
