Re: Ruben Amorim Sack Watch
Amorim came from Sporting & a successful one to Manchester United.
Sergio Conceição of Porto has now arrived at Milan replacing Portuguese counterpart Fonseca
im very excited for him the way Glory was excited for Amorim
speaking of Amorim is very good. the manager isn't the problem not like the squad is any good not one world class player at all.

Not sure if United had bad luck or players sabotaging the poor sod on purpose over the snakes.
Hopefully they fire this guy sooner rather than later to ensure that manutd remain in the mud where they belong with all the other donkeys.

Re: Ruben Amorim Sack Watch
Provided we dont actually get relegated (which I fear genuinely considering the shocking lack of actual goal scorers in the squad
) I for one is glad that we are in the mud right now. No more fake form resulting in players renewing and staying. The real dross can be very much be separated after this season and we can start afresh (again lol) (from some transfers and youth players if they dont have funds). I fear for Amorim tho, the trigger happy SJR might actually sack him if our fortunes doesnt change. Amorim is really good and will improve us if given time. That much I am certain. But right now its an impossible task teaching those donkeys new tricks. He need 6 or 7 new players eventually, and 4 new players in the immediate future to work his style. A LWB, a CM, an AM and CF.

Back this man. Give him what he wants in the summer. The way he makes us go toe to toe with the best teams is so refreshing to see. That after being in charge for 2 months. Just need proper players that suit his system now. Especially both wing backs and a CF.

I mentioned earlier Milan got Amorin's Portuguese and rival team counterpart in Conceicao, a storied winner at that and im ecstatic about him now seeing a coach i actually wanted in my team, and after years at that.
United indeed shouldtn care for results as look at their coaches who initially got great results and ended up mediocre.
The coaches have never been the true problem at the club it's internal as Cristiano affirms as Amorim already is proven.

Re: Ruben Amorim Sack Watch
The often bump in result when a new coach comes into a club, players wanting to show their worth to him when they didnt bother knowing the old one was on the way out
Lets see how they do...

Yea. The media and his PR friends have tried their best to coax Amorim to go back and cede to Rashford and bring him back into the 1st team fold. Its commendable RA has thwarted all their efforts. For that I think Ineos also deserves some credit for standing with the manager and not the toxic player for once.
Like you said, it's a long process and will take time. 3 years ago, Rangnick had quickly recognized the problem and had bluntly stated that the club needed open-heart surgery. His higher-ups didn’t like it, and instead of listening to him, they cluelessly ditched him and appointed a bald fraud who, not only dismissed everything RR had said the club should be doing, but also abandoned his own footballing philosophy to suit the forever underperforming, overpaid, and overpampered players the club has been carrying. Sigh.
Its been a ride, but finally it seems we have landed on a modern, tactically adept coach who is brave and won’t tolerate any nonsense, and is emphasizing its either his way or the highway lol and the new regime is also backing him (so far). It’s really heartening to see.

Re: Ruben Amorim Sack Watch
i still remember United routing Milan in 09/10 season with Beckham coming on followed by his tears being back in OT since the atmosphere that night was a cauldron. not just bc United were destroying Milan but the entire OT chant was "love United hate glazer" Becks even joined in on it wearing the green and gold scarf thrown at the pitch past full time.
It was a brilliant atmosphere.
how in the tf do United have glazers to this day lmao
LFC fans combined worldwide to get Hicks and Gilette thrown out post Hodgson, the heck are United fans doing

Re: Ruben Amorim Sack Watch
Anyone else have an issue with his press conferences?
Whenever a manger says a formation is his philosophy it's a bit of an ick.
I understand that following Ten Hag they wanted someone who could implement a clear identity within the team, but a formation being your identity is always a red flag.
An identity should be composed of your basic game principles. For example it should be things like: building from the back, pressing high, always having one player hugging the touchline etc.
Not "3-4-3 or nothing"
The smaller teams in the PL are at the highest tactical level ever lol. They'll eat you alive with such reductive thinking.
If the opposition is pressing with only 1 striker up top, what do you need 3 CB's for? Using 2 CB's is enough and you'll still have numerical superiority.
5-2-3 is the worst pressing formation out there, and even the coach who use 3 at the back will press with a 4-4-2 most of the times.
If your wingers are shit at defending and your wingbacks are shit at attacking why are you persisting with using wingbacks?
Cruyff & Pep are like the biggest proponents of "my identity" football but even then they never limited themselves with a specific formation. They played with 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2, 3-2-4-1, 3-3-3-1, and 4-4-2. Hell I've seen Pep use a 4-3-1-2 a couple times and that's someone who doesn't like using wingbacks for width.
United invested a lot in Amorim, and I'm sure they'll give him some funds over the summer to bring some of his guys in, but I honestly don't like the way he views things.

Re: Ruben Amorim Sack Watch
His press conferences are excellent. Brutal and honest. Exactly the way how United's higher ups and our primadona players dont like press conferences to be from their managers lol. Rangnick got the boot for being honest. So, may be Amorim wants himself out of this mess already lol if we go by his statements lately.
Anyway I dont think he has ever stressed on formation in his pressers even when journos kind of baited him with exaclty that. I have heard him say formation comes secondary. Instead its the progressing the ball, work rate all those other things, which our players by the way severely lack. Yes he has said its either way or bust. But that is not as black and white as you infer.
And Amorim's 3-4-3 from what I have heard is not a rigid old school 3-4-3 too. For Sporting depending on opponents he has used different players especially as wide players, sometimes wingers, other times full backs or some other times, inverted wing backs/wing backs. My confidence in him stems from the fact that in big games, he has been really smart and shrewd like Mourinho level shrewd without the bus parking that is. He is getting those games right with his tactics. Its the other games, mid and lower league clubs he is struggling in for various reasons.
For me though, what he is doing wrong for us is employing our wing backs exclusively in those 2 positions. Against big teams away from home and all, its fine, But why do you have to play with Dalot and Mazraoui as wing backs against Brighton and Southampton (Dalot would have played had he been not suspended). Automatically it becomes a 5 at the back out of possession. The opposition has it easy to pin us into our half because of that. We have Antony, Garnacho who can play that role instead. Antony for all his faults, has got good work rate. He can definitely do a job until the summer when we can purchase a proper player for that role. Garnacho can be molded into that role with proper game time. May be Amorim's respecting the premier league a tad too much and will learn sooner that he can pull the stops and play on the front foot atleast in majority of games at home atleast.
