So is Olmo a free agent now or does he need to be bought from Barcelona?

The best we can tell is yes he is a free agent. However, we can expect Laporta to keep trying to keep this open while he tries to sell more of the VIP seats. For him, the deadline is just rule that can be appealed. You can expect chaos for next couple of weeks.

At end of day, assuming Laporta can’t bend the rules, Olmo would be a fool to not play for the second half of the season. Clubs will come calling in next week or so.

So let me get this straight Barca has sold its future:
-  25% of its future media rights
-  50% of its future luxury seats
-  merchandising rights (not sure what %)
-  branding rights (not sure what %)

So what money will Barca have in 10 years?

And even with all that, how can they screw up so bad that they can't get their players registered.  I mean what the hell is going on.

Also, Messi did not bankrupt Barca.  His contract was fine.  It paid for itself.

The issues were the transfer fees and contracts for the likes of Coutinho, Griezmann, Pjanic, Ferran Torres, Malcom, Lenglet, De Jong, Ousmane Dembele, etc

I never said it's "made up", I said it's always been overblown in the past because they always managed to register everyone in the end. But even if they do register Olmo in the end, the image of the club has already been tarnished.

I sense a motion of no confidence against Laporta is slowly brewing behind the scenes.

And as Im reading up on this apparently some of those contracts are also still being paid by Barca even now due to missed payments as well similar to mehssi.

I disagree. Barcelona will find a way and if not, pathetico is actually putting up a fight this season. Clubs have their ups and downs. Some endure while others fade away into obscurity. I don't think Barca will be the latter but who knows what the future holds... Maybe they will share the fate of Nottingham forest or that of current manutd. Time will tell.

Besides, no way Barcelona accepts a loan from us. Just imagine the banter should it become a thing. Think being taken over by a Billionaire would be a better fate than being saved by one's own rivals. Barcelona would effectively stop being a rival permanently. They wouldn't ever be able to live it down.

Not a free loan... a proper loan with a proper risk-adjusted interest rate, etc. Not that Barca could do it without the entire region burning everything down lol.

Bayern fans aren't complaining and neither would I. Not to mention, Bayern have always been super competitive in Europe regardless. If it's that big of a deal then let la liga take on that responsibility if they have time. My primary concern is Real Madrid and we are not top of the table. Can't lose sleep over barca and I bet they won't lose sleep over us if we were in the garbage

To be honest, I've never heard of a club paying 10s of millions of euros for a player... and then not being able to register him. Granted, if a club did this in France, they'd relegate them to amateur status (no joke). Almost happened to Lille and it did happen to Bordeaux. Barca lucky they're in La Liga.
