Re: Premier League 2024/25
Not watched Liverpool much, but I woulda thought they together with Slot deserve much more priase than they are getting still? When basically no one thought they would become this good so fast after Klopp left? 42 pts from 17 games thats 2.5 pts per game, Im sure thats high historically in the league?
One thing apart from the good transfers theyve doing over recent yrs, the fast pace football, etc., must be how they keep all the stars happy. I mean often in big clubs even today, when u got so many attacking stars who would walk into most other teams warming the bench, rumours would inevitably start with them being unhappy, but dont ever seem to be the case with Liverpool... all this with a relatively balance wage structure n all that? Very impressive...

Will be dangerously close, like 1 or 2 points close after Newcastle and Pool games
On actual relegation, Southampton and Leicester are dead certs to go down and hopefully we can be better than 1 more team (possibly Everton) and finish 17th. Will be 1 helluva ride. Lots of fans loyalties will be tested. People are turning on even Kobbie Mainoo , with some of them calling for him to be sold to raise funds for yet another rebuild. Madness.
But then again, Mainoo might be among the only 1 or 2 players who could fetch a respectable amount of money if sold in the summer. So, cant fault that thought too much. The rest brainless idiots like captain Bruno Fernandes, especially by the time the season ends, we probably will have to pay the buyer clubs to offload. Fml. What a time to be alive for United fans especially when Liverpool basically is strolling, giftwrapped and handed over the title already.
For the new system to work Amorim may need 5-6 new players. I dont even think he will get 50 mil without sales to do that next summer. lol. Might as well resign and go back to Sporting and continue his impressive work there and go to a proper club in the future.

re: Liverpool
it's annoying how fast they became this good, efficient and resilient again...
i think now they even play more sustainable football than they did under Klopp, coz it's not as high-octane, it's more controlled...
Salah is on Balon D'or pace, Van Dijk is back to being in contention for best CB in the world, Gravenbech and Gakpo found their stride this season, and MacAllister was always the 2nd best outfield player from the last World Cup winning team. Combine all of that with them being the luckiest so far this season in terms of injuries.
still with that said, they are beatable on a per game basis as we were slightly better than them at the game at the Emirates earlier this season, only an injured and makeshift backline led to them equalising on us
It's just that the winning leadership/mentality that they have in the team is currently guiding them towards league dominance this season.

I thought Man U are still one of the most popular n richest clubs n dont really have financial issues, so basically no need to sell in order to buy? But definitely hearing yet another 5-6 players needed for yet another new managers vision to work is just so XD
Btw, hows Ugarte working out? I hear praise but I always remembered him being a donkey for PSG...

Liverpool I am sure is overperforming their xg and some shit and will drop off in the 2nd half next year. But the thing is by then they will be way far ahead to actually suffer drop in league positions. Helps when their closest challenger is perennial nose bleeders / bridesmaids Arsenal this season. Arteta must seriously resign if the one season Pep has turned sadomasochist and City simply cant pick up a win, Slot could just waltz in and win the league on his first attempt ffs. Feking haired fraud. Still think Arsenal could mount a late challenge though and it will be somewhat close come April/may. But you guys need to seriously get rid of your npc mentality and start doing better.

Ugarte has been really good. One of the better players. Had we be winning games, I would have said excellent and his performances would have gotten far more praise from everywhere, but as things stand he is one of the few positions were we are ok going forward. Others being Amad, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Yoro, Mainoo (needs some time out though) and well yea thats it. Others can all fuck off.
And yea we need sell to buy thanks to the mindless business being done under previous managers.

Thimmy wrote:I don’t think I’m defending him for the sake of it. I’ve followed him through 3 clubs now, and there’s quite a stark contrast between how he plays for Man City and how he played at Dortmund and RB Salzburg. He’s scoring more goals in this system, but the ball involvement and creative expression have been stripped down a level where I sometimes he forget that he’s on the field.
He doesn’t utilize his pace, strength and movement with any regularity at Man City, so that’s currently not a part of his repertoire that he relies on. He did so during the first half of their treble-winning season, and I do think he and Bernardo carried the team on their back at that point in time, but ever since he supposedly adapted to the team’s tactics, he’s largely been a fox in the box that doesn’t really see the ball for large portions of a typical match.
Part of his role in the team is to drag defenders wide and create space for the midfielders. Those midfielders would usually be the star of the show at Man City, but all of them are currently out of form.
my post was in agreement given ive defended assortments of players similarly and do not know Haaland anywhere near as well in experience of watching. kind of ready for him to be elsewhere now

Zirkzee subbed off after 30 mins in one of our worst performances I've seen in years, fans cheered yikes
what a diasaster signing he has been, no place in any system, not his fault at all but he needs to be moved on in January
Battered tonight and Liverpool will humiliate us.

So the hipster can't handle everton but Leicester is np?
What an amusing hipster.
Liverpool is playing close to their potential ceiling. What a dangerous team. Hopefully they drop off by March. One team cannot salvage the league of donkeys.

Utd won the midfield battle. Ugarte was huge. Imagine if Utd had a better wingback than Dalot. TAA gave him the red carpet but he hardly took advantage

Bruno Fernandes was man of the match for me. That was likely the most impressive performance I’ve ever seen from him. Incredible work rate.

Re: Premier League 2024/25
Man U does it again, turn up vs the big teams n then become shit again vs the regulars? I read even Bruno said they team arent consistent enough or something... Amorim saying the club is in too much of a comfort zone meaning players dont get pushed to give their all every game I suppose? Same thing... explains it... cos it seem similar with all these different coaches its still happening...

It's not like Bruno has been very consistent either He played as if the lives of his family were at stake. Where was that fighting spirit before this match?

Re: Premier League 2024/25
Yea. For the first time probably since joining us, Bruno looked genuine world class and worth all the hype and the relatively high status he enjoys in the footballing world. Even in that Covid season when he was statpadding through penalties mainly, it always felt like stats were masking his actual displays. So, even when his apologists defend him citing numbers, never felt he was truly elite. He thrived on chaos and counter attack and never really had control and discipline in his game. 1 out of 5 times, he sets up a key pass, the remaining 4, he losses possession. But yesterday, for the 1st time, his game had control. And he frigging dribbled past players . He always had work rate. But this time, he effectively combined work rate with tenacity and quality on the ball. The red card and rest I thnk did wonders to him it seems like. If Amorim can bring this Bruno more often than not, than the moaning whiny weak as piss one, he can stay for however long he wants and I and many fans will have no complaints

Yes. What a boss. Cant believe we have a proper midfielder finally after all the fake pretenders and frauds in the last 10 years. Him and Mainoo (with proper nurturing) are going to be huge for us in the coming years.

Re: Premier League 2024/25
Bruno can be a frustrating watch, messes up simple things too often while being capable of pulling off the incredible, that said when you consistently read year on year that he has the most chances created of anyone in the league and among the top in europe it almost feels like it isnt true, but the numbers dont lie
so disappointed we didnt come away with the 3 points but I've also seen this time and time again, we will lose and look awful next week
Ugarte was immense!

Re: Premier League 2024/25
Doesnt matter if we loose next match. Results doesnt matter anymore anyway this season. Dont care about where we finish this season provided its above 18th ofc lol. Just stay in the league which we comfortably will. Raise the standards on a match by basis. Ingrain the style and system Amorim wants to play 100% into the players. The ones who cant, phase out. Take it as an extended preseason/training regime. In the Europa league, give it a go in the 2nd half of the season and try to sneak into CL next season via that route. If we cant fine. Next season with no other distractions, with full rest, with players more and more versed in his tactics, we will do really well.

Curse you amorim that's another 100 quid I lost.
You will pay for this. Double witch doctors for next match. I'll select the finest goats and elk for the sacrifices.
Manutd won't be escaping the mudshow so soon!
