Re: Mbappe to Real Madrid - Official
Mbappe sucks at pressing given the way he uses his movement. Slow and tepid movement followed by aggressive bursts of movement forward that most defenders simply cannot predict. In pressing he's using energy that is used for such surges that aren't as effect when his legs are gone within the game. It's very similar to Henry who was similar in both and quite frankly a waste.
His natural position is central I'll never agree otherwise. Vinicius on the other hand is clearly a player more suited to wide positions as it is.

No. They have Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos to play CF. Barcola and Li Kang-In at LW and Dembele/Asensio RW. They're concentrating on midfielders and a CB. I expect massive offers for Kimmich (they tried in the winter), Bernardo Silva and Upamecano. IF they want a splash signing, it will be Leao because he has a reasonable exit clause (140 million) and is very young.

Kylian Mbappé will not earn more than Bellingham and Vinicius at Real Madrid. He will sign for 5-6 years with a signing bonus of less than €50m.

Re: Mbappe to Real Madrid - Official
So much for these statements that so and so is Perez’ boy. Carlo and Zidane have shown they will play whoever they want.
As to Rodrygo, he will be an off the bench option IMO. I think Carlo will play mostly the 4-4-2 formation depending on opposition. The issue for Rodrygo is unless injured Mbappe, Vinicius and Bellingham will play. That means the forward options; Rodrygo, Diaz, Endick and Joselu will see far less playing time than this year. I say the 2 forward formation as I don’t think they want Tchouameni nor Camavinga to spend too much time on bench.
As to rest of squad, I believe Joselu stays as it is highly doubtful if Espanyol makes it back to 1st division.
I think Ceballos will be sold to Atletico, Modric will be gone, but I think Kross is around for one more year. They have to make a decision with Güler as to keep him or loan him out. If they decide to loan him out, look for Nico to be promoted to 1st team.
On defense, Davies is likely persuaded to join Mbappe, with Mendy to be sold. There is also an outside chance that they bring back Gutierrez as a better backup to Davies and sell Fran. Similarly they could also sign a RB, Couto was the name mentioned and they would let Lucas contract run out. There also is the possibility of signing Yoro from Lille in place of Nacho letting his contract run out. Both Nacho and Lucas could be extended for another year even if signings are done to allow for contingency backups, if numbers work.
And in goal, Courtois will be back with Lunin solidified as backup and likely to play Copa games with Kepa’s loan finished.

Re: Mbappe to Real Madrid - Official
Per RMC, Mbappe is working with Real Madrid on a compensation structure that provides for deferred payments (via image rights and multiple payments for signing fee) so that Real Madrid has the capital needed to make other purchases this summer.
With Modric leaving, I think Ceballos stays. If RM go to a 433, then Valverde is in danger because he’s a B2B as opposed to a CM. If RM stays in a 442, then Rodrigo is the one.
Besides Mbappe, need a LB, RB and CB. Carvajal, Mendy and Alaba all need to get upgraded if possible. Not a lot of great fullbacks. FYI…. Davies cannot defend at all. So RM need a crazy good CB on his side with a good DM to compensate.

Re: Mbappe to Real Madrid - Official
Have you watched Davies, Sport? He has outrun numerous attackers, much like Varane used to do. The man has incredible speed. Saying he doesn’t play any defense at all is simply not correct. He plays at least as much as Roberto Carlos or Marcelo did and also factor in that able to get back or even beat the forward. I will give you that the CB (I say it will be Rudiger) will have to help and I think he will be a tremendous help to offense.
I think the defense this year will be Carvajal, Militao, Rudiger, Davies backup up with Couto, Yoro, Alaba, Fran or Gutierrez (note first two are speculation on my part)

Cadena Ser (Delgado) reporting that Flo is also after Haaland, not this year but in a year or two. If they do manage to get him Rodrygo and possibly Vinicius would be sold!
Sounds incredible, but I suspect it is nothing more than pure speculation.

Re: Mbappe to Real Madrid - Official
I doubt that is true. Mbappe's contract will probably be until his thirties whereas both Belli and Vini will renegotiate in 2026 when they are still young. I'd be surprised if Mbappé's contract doesn't dwarf the rest. But Perez has always been fair with wages so I am not worried about dressing room equilibriumValkyrja wrote:Kylian Mbappé will not earn more than Bellingham and Vinicius at Real Madrid. signing Haaland would've made alot more sense than Mbappe, but we didn't work as hard trying to persuade him to sign with us. I doubt the report is true. Knowing Perez he has gotten his galactico, he'll go back to penny pinching until he identifies the next galactico. Re: Mbappe to Real Madrid - Official
Let me rephrase. He's a poor defender against good wingers. He's more than adequate against most of them because of his speed. Not very good tactically. Mostly see him play in CL against good wingers which probably overemphasized his issue there.
He has other warts, crossing and passing are two of them along with decision-making in the final third but hopefully those can get resolved with experience.
Speed is his game. And he's very young. Definitely a big upgrade over Mendy. Davies misses about 1/3 of the games for various reasons on average so it's important to be 3 deep there. But with Camavinga on RM, it's not an issue.

Depends how you want to play. Haaland is a 9 (the very best one today) and you cannot play him wide (well you could but it would be dumb). It would also stop Bellingham from attacking at all. With Mbappe... he likes to come lower which allows Bellingham to make those runs that he does so well.
I would combine Haalnd and Mbappe in a heartbeat because Haaland can do what he did best at Dortmund and Mbappe would move around him. Most lethal duo ever imo.

Maybe in a video game. Who is going to provide for who? Neither are good assist providers. It could work if they played in a 433 them the RW would have to be ADM who could compensate for their lack of creativity.sportsczy wrote:halamadrid2 wrote:signing Haaland would've made alot more sense than Mbappe, but we didn't work as hard trying to persuade him to sign with us. If Perez hadn't obsessed about Mbappe and actually sat down to see what we really need then he quickly would've identified Haaland as his primary target. He is literally the missing piece in our attack. With Mbappe we'll just have to hope that it all works out. The only way I see it work if we continue with Bellingham in the 10 role as he is the only physical one with great heading ability.
433 could work but I can already imagine it against a tough team in the CL. Without a physical presence in the box it becomes easy to defend against as you won't need to worry about the attacker bullying you. Haaland against Bayern was a prime example of the upside to having a physically strong guy up top.
I don't know, we'll have to see how we fair this season. We have a great team although it is missing an attacker. I can see it going all the way. Especially if we get Militao back before the QF

Re: Mbappe to Real Madrid - Official
That is a myth about Mbappe. Here are his assist numbers by season:
- 7 assists so far this season playing mostly CF
- 12 assists in 2022/2023
- 24 assists in 2021/2022 (led the league)
- 16 assists in 2020/2021
- 18 assists in 2019/2020
- 13 assists in 2018/2019
- 13 assists in 2017/2018
Source: https://footystats.org/players/france/kylian-mbappe
He's an excellent assist man. But that's not where the teams need him. They want him to score. Yet, he gets his assists.

Ceballos wants to play on NT. Atletico are interested. I think he goes and Nico likely gets promoted. Also a large question as to what they do with Guler. loan or not? He's a natural backup to Bellington, but Diaz does well there as well. It will be interesting as to what they do with Endick and Guler. Re odd man out, I agree it's likely Rodrygo, but not for a year at least. I believe they will not play a fixed formation and likely no midfielders will be leaving plus Kroos is likely retiring in a year. Issue with Rodrygo is playing time. Unless injured Mbappe and Vinicus will play the majority of time. Meaning the extra forwards (Rodrygo, Diaz, Joselu and Endick, maybe Guler) will battle for what little playing time is available.
Carlo has shown he can and likely will rotate his midfielders.

I don't even know why Davies is hyped at this point. His speed carries his entire game even his defence because the moment he is passed he will catch up to you. Why would Madrid go for him?

Reflecting on this... why do we care how much RM pays or Mbappe (and others) makes? Neither is going to the poor house ever lol. So who cares as long as RM gets him and Mbappe plays well.
RM acts ethically with players... which PSG has not with Neymar, Verratti and now Mbappe. So my dislike for PSG has returned too lol. Getting hard for me to watch football if i keep this up. May have to return to RM just because some of my favorite players are there (no true fandom anymore).

I have no fucking clue why any member of any club unless they have stakes in it, care about what they play.
It isn't your money
They most likely know far better than you are doing so with it, as your standard football fan is a wagecuck
You dont understand the concept of having lots of money doesn't mean you dont need more to maintain your expensive lifestyle.
Mbappe is the best player in the world and by a distance now. It has to be premium price for him.

Farewell tour for Mbappe in Ligue 1 starts.
He came off the bench and scored of course. But after the game was over and PSG won 2-0, the crowd gave him an ovation. L'Equipe has an article about it. They asked a fan about what was going on. The fan said: "The reason that I'm at the game tonight is for him (Mbappe)."
Nice way to go if this continues. Nantes is in the west and typically despises Parisians.

Expected. Madrid cannot underbid too much. He wants to go there but there are limits.
