As a person, he is an awful human being and karma took too long to hit him. It baffles me that many people ignore the fact that he refused to acknowledge one of his daughters (DNA testing proved she was his daughter) and when she eventually passed away from cancer the SOB didn't even bother to show up at the funeral.

Can't stand posts like these for numerous reasons. First you don't know what people are going through to make certain decisions. I remember when vilanova passed, people made comments about pep based on the internet and vilanovas wife. U don't know the internal situation behind none of that stuff. Focus on the football; not like he killed raped or did some vile stuff.
Also if people are really pationate about the situation u don't wait till the man dies to poke ure chest out and start blasting his life's decisions. Unless ure doing some documentary and even then, there are tasteful ways of going about that now that the guy is not here to defend himself.
Last I checked we are fans of the sport, not priests or religious leaders (though they are welcome to join the forum). Like damn he hasn't even got a minute of silence before our so called pharisees on here started pulling out their moral card.

His career had the perfect start and also the perfect end. We know the role Brazil has played in this our sport. You cannot praise Brazil's contributions and in the same veign minimize its King. Rip O Rei

We harp a lot about the power of football, but tbh, reading your post I was like "oh yeah, right, Pele is black", because the appeal of this sport is so strong, in my mind he's yellow and green, a Brazilian. Didn't even think about it.
Absolute legend of the game. Together with Maradona one of those absolute, undisputed legends. And the first of his kind, perhaps owing to timing. Ferenc Puscas might've been another, but maybe came a decade too early.
One of the greats. I'm really curious how we'll see the line of legends in the future, who'll evoke the same reverence as Pele, or Cruyff. It'll actually be exciting how later players compare in terms of pure legend status, but let's not speculate on that here, or the very recent players will take over the discussion.
RIP Pele.

Was kinda shocked to hear it after it seemed like he was recovering. I legit felt goosebumps when I read the highlight on the news.

Did you know yellow and red cards didn’t exist until 1970? One of the reasons to booking being introduced was how the Bulgarians and Portuguese chased Pelé until he was ruled out of the 1996 World Cup. He played most of his career in a lawless game where only the strong survived! pic.twitter.com/9qXqM4jfiH

Wow I can't even imagine the game with no yellow or reds. Imagine when we had Ramos and pepe with no yellow or reds. I'm sorry but we wouldn't have lost any of those clasicos.
