went up to episode 3 and wasn't compelled to watch further tb... all this show has done is cause a TWD renaissance and remind people how good TWD used to be its first 6 seasons and how nothing from this genre could ever compete with it

Been taking my sweet time with this show, as I try to cherish all of the top productions. I'm only on EP3 but it's already so much better than TWD. I actually like the fact that it doesnt rely on zombie/infected scare jumps that much, no cheap shots in order to fill airtime

Didnt expect to see this side of Ron Swanson, damn. Gets better with each episode. El G not sure how you're not compelled to watch futher after ep 3!!! I've never seen a love story depicted this beautifully

Finished ep5. Wowzers!!! It compliments the game very well, impressive so far but the bar is so fucking low for adaptation these days

The casting is great except Kathleen I guess. She was not a convincing leader. Marlene was so good. And I also still maintain that Millie Bobby Brown should’ve been Ellie

I stopped watching stranger things many years ago so idk if she's changed, but she didn't display the range bella did here.

She was great in Enola Holmes where she displayed a range of emotions, and generally having watched a couple of late night interviews she'd be perfect for Ellie. She's exactly like her; snarky, foul-mouthed and a dad-joke specialist and she can deal with the dramatic aspects


Stranger things done her a little bit dirty because now everyone thinks she just has one expression and screams a lot

Bella Ramsey is 5 times the Actress bobby brown is.

The latter isn't very talented. She had two things in ST. Acting shy and then pointing her arm at a monster and screaming.

Still not seen it I am sure she is great but I know how far away she looks from Ellie will be hard to adjust to.

Thats why I'm saying its kind of unfair to judge her based on ST alone, she's done other stuff since and clearly has a wider range. Her character in ST was literally a girl who had trouble with expressing emotion and communicating..

Wonderful show. Wish it had more infected though. Felt like an afterthought in the later eps.

You know years in this forum has taught me to recognize when a poster decides to hate on something before watching it. EG here is blatant as it gets. I really would like to see some evidence of the TWD renaissance and all the people that are raving about how its best of the genre. All I've seen is people talking about how much better this show is

lol i have no reason to hate, my friend. I have seen a few people getting on TWD again across social media and loving it (the earlier seasons only of course). I think even Netflix put it in their catalogue because of the revival.

Im enjoying it so far for its objective excellence and execution even if it isn't hitting me as hard as the game.

I am a bit embarrassed though as my impulsive mind came out when I expected Joel's daughter to look like what she did but when I saw her I shrieked in horror "SHE'S BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I saw this. I thought it was a great adaptation of the games. The paci could have been a little bit better, IMO. But it was still a great watch.

I do think it’s a pretty solid show, but the casting process was likely «very specific», just like it was for The Witcher. I read Ellie’s actress’ wikipedia page, and immediately while reading her personal life section, I was like «knew it!»

I wasn’t even familiar with the term, «Neurodivergent», although I’m pretty sure I’ve heard it before. Seems like a fancy term for being on the autistic spectrum.

Yep she isnt even that good an actress, but being vegan/neurodiverse/non-binary and sexually flexible sealed the deal

Anyway the show is good but likely thats because the overall quality of shows these days is low so it stands out. But the game is still far ahead

It was one of the best shows Ive ever seen, at least a season that is.

I think she was good. It wasn't Witcher type casting where it was diversity for the sake of it and Ive never seen a more faithful adaptation than this show to its game.

You are seeing something am not seeing brother, but indeed casting could've been worse

There are however some misses, Kathleen comes to mind most prominently, and Ellie for me personally

Meanwhile I am here watching TWD which is a good example of proper casting. Great characters can really carry even a mid show
