@rincon good point on Mac Allister, definitely one of the players who gained market value this wc for us. He's been pretty unsung so far but (like Enzo and Álvarez) earned his spot during the tournament.

Another one flying under the radar is Otamendi, who has been an absolute rock, giving his 2 younger CBs much needed experience and tranquility. But we are due for a classic fuckup from him and that kinda scares me going into the final.

Mac Allistar is a classic example of a player playing at a higher level because he has a genius and God beside him... Messi is giving this entire Argentina team an extra level of believe in themselves just because they believe in him so much.

Brighton should absolutely cash in if they get around 50 million offer for him.

That would be the case if they weren't dealing with their own injury problems (potentially 3/4 of the starting defenders are out).

Cant support Morocco after what their fans been doing in the streets of paris etc., very disturbing. But I'd rather France lose so that Messi has a better chance at gold. Otherwise I usually root for France. That's quite a predicament

Those aren't "fans" per se, they're delinquent unassimilated migrants who capitalize on situations like these to clash with authorities and create mayhem in the crowd.

I don't think he will go 352 against France. It's a bad setup to defend Mbappe and Dembele. It risks one on ones on the wing.

Going 5 at the back means less space in the backline and the defenders can shift side to side quickly. France’s wingers will receive with less space even if they have a more isolated duel with the wingback. You also get the numeric superiority of being able to build 3v2 in central spaces against Mbappe and Giroud.

Morocco’s coach went with 5 defenders. Let’s see how it pans out. I think if they’re able to stifle the wing threat, Scaloni will copy it.

Mbappé is a liability in defence. His non-offensive contributions are like CR7/Messi - without having achieved half as much as the two greats. Until he was on the LW, Morocco's RB/RW were having a good time offensively, until he was moved to CF with Thuram replacing him on the wing. That was the end of Morocco's offensive contributions from the right.

As for the final, I feel we have the better squad overall, especially when it comes to subs. France are solid and also lethal with on-form Giroud, Griezmann, Mbappé and occasionally Dembélé but we hold our own and will go toe to toe with them. I also feel like we want it more than the French.
