Re: Julian Alvarez Appreciation Thread
I thought he did rise to the challenge and did very well, yet still remained benched too often. In benched I don't just mean didn't start because he did start a lot but was almost always the first one out.
Man did not get his flowers and left.
Fair play in my book.

And he's not only in competition with Haaland, he can play as a 2nd striker and is not simply a poacher. That's why he played 90% of the matches last season in the league, even when Haaland was fit.
I can understand wanting to play the most important CL matches, but I wish he had responded by raising to the challenge.
Irony is that he likely will be competing for bigger things at Atleti than had he stayed at City.

Re: Julian Alvarez Appreciation Thread
Yeah, I see a lot of Man City fans on the internet express that they wish they hadn't let him go. That he would've gotten them back on track if he had still been there.
But it was a very good piece of business from a financial perspective, and I don't think he would've made much of a difference if he had stayed right now.
His absence from the team was quickly forgotten when the team was playing well, but now that they're struggling, he's being viewed as the missing piece, along with Rodri. I don't think any single player can compensate for the rut they're in.
Several players would need to step up their game, and quite a few of them seem tired from having to play non-stop through this losing streak, while others have been injured.
Individuals aside, they have been experiencing more injuries than they have probably ever had before, and the club didn't do itself any favors by having an uncharacteristically quiet transfer window in the summer.

And stand by it you shall.
It's December and you still having sour grapes about him leaving? Top kek

We are not ahead.
He has 14 goals in 29 games after a slow start.
Best thing since sliced bread Vinicius Bullock has 13 and Mbappe has 14.

Mbappe has 20 G/A and he's had a very slow start. Vini has 25 G/A and he's been injured and suspended for over a month and a half. Alvarez has 12 G/A. I just had a look at the teams he scored against and yeahVibe wrote:We are not ahead.

What's with the lies?
Alvarez scored 14 not 12, Mbappe has 14 goals, Vini has 13, I checked the stats.
Just add a goal a piece Mbappe and Vini scored last night.

Re: Julian Alvarez Appreciation Thread
No Mbappe has 16 goals and Vini 15, thats about as many G/A as Alvarez and we've been an absolute shitshow this season. In fact even Jude has as many G/A as him and his season started in November.Vibe wrote:What's with the lies?

Who gives a shit about stats. That’s Harmonica’s MOO.
Fact is it’s going to be an excellent competition amongst three very good teams. I’m expecting all three to do well in CL as well!

Zawodnik
I can not take any list with Real Madryt and Atl. Madryt seriously, clearly false stats.

minor difference, in Polish womanizer can be - zwodnik
so just a distinction of one letter
zawodnik comes from zawody, which means contest/tournament

Re: Julian Alvarez Appreciation Thread
Great player. I saw some people questioning his transfer value, but I've seen worse strikers who didn't prove themselves at the highest level like Alvarez has go for similar/higher fees. Totally justifiable fee given the current market conditions.
He can lead the line or play deeper. He has great ball-striking technique leading to amazing finishing and good passing. He's quick and he has amazing workrate. There's also no availability issues with him as he doesn't get injured.
He's not the best dribbler, and he lacks presence in the box due to his height. However, if he starts most games, this is a guy who will get you 30+ goals a season in all competitions, and has shown he's capable of showing up in big games. I don't get the hate.
