I don't care as much if they score against us as long as we win. Those dudes don't bother me as much as when eto'o wud always give us the business for both Mallorca and barca

What do you expect them to do? They are pros who didn’t make it at Madrid for whatever reason. Do you really expect them to stand idly by and watch the guys that beat them out play? Almost every team in la liga has one of our canteras. Hell, the liga wouldn’t be as good as it is if it wasn’t for RMad and Barca castoffs. If the team really fears them, then someone should be asking why did we let them go. Bitching because some of them occasionally score again us is as naive as you can be!
I am far more concerned about the racist behavior of Atleti so called fans and the weak responses from club, la liga and authorities. And to top it off the ridiculous statements from Gil Marin about Real’s influence!

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
I just can't help but feel that I've watched a million former players roll back the years and perform as if they've got some kind of a point to prove against us. I still remember when we played against Schalke in the CL several years back, and Huntelaar literally had his best performance of the season against us. Running like a man possessed and scoring 2 goals in the first leg, before eventually being knocked out on aggregate. He carried his team with his workrate in that performance.
I never rated Huntelaar very highly, I thought he was inexceptional, but I do remember the look on his face after he scored one of his goals against us. He had this self-gratifying, sort of angry expression, as if he'd managed to strike back at a bully

The castilla experience must be very traumatic if the graduates look back with anger

Or the fact that they get overlooked by some unknown player in a different league when they are ready for the first team frustrates them and they essentially feel they have something to prove when they play against us.
Parejo, Negredo, Joselu and Morata are some players who may feel they were wronged by the club. There are some players who are being ignored now too but at least they are not ignored by the club this time but by Ancelotti.

Don’t you think it’s human nature to play your best to show the club that rejected you they were mistaken?
Calling them prick etc, is just ridiculous. I sometimes wonder what the hell do you expect! Seems to me you expect team to win every game 5-0 and other team to just stand idly by!
A competitive liga is exactly what is needed for team’ s overall success.

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
I’m with Bill on this one. Especially when a lot of the times, players fail at Madrid because of either lack of opportunity or being played out of position.
They’re perfectly good or even very good players. They just don’t fit into what Madrid needs at the time or the manager’s tactics.
I’m actually happy for these guys. Seeing Odegaard play well is fantastic. Shows that Madrid isn’t the beginning or end of anything. It’s just a club.

I don't think any of those players feel robbed or wronged by the club. As Bill said, they are pros, they'll give their best and it's normal for you to give extra when going against a familiar opponent. I actually think they appreciate madrid more than we think. I've heard retired castilla players and retired barca B players who never really got shine on the first team, speak highly of the respective clubs.
Not to mention, most of those guys never really thought they had a chance in benching the super star forwards on the team. Now the ones that did might have a bigger gripe, but the other ones know madrid helped them get a career going. Historically (I don't have the numbers) but I believe madrid has probably contributed more players to the league than any other club....at least to clubs like getafe and vallecano
Now someone like eto'o won't fit the bill, his confidence ability and mental strength, I think he felt he was not treated right and he took it personal like Jordan. Before messi he was the one tormenting iker

Etoo was one who wasn’t given the chance to develop / show his stuff. It could have been same with Vinicius and Rodrygo if club didn’5 give them the opportunities!
The other big mistake that I can think of was Morientes!

They are back in form. Playing well.
This string of games has shown Ceballos and Camavinga can easily replace Kroos and Modric! This summer is time for both to leave. Also shown the door should be Mendy. I wish they would give Vinicius Tobias some game time as it would be good to know how he fits (or not).
Interesting both Ceballos and Asensio have recently said they would prefer to renew with Madrid.

We've been excellent
Ceballos has been great. All over the pitch. The catalyst to our great pressing. Hope we continue in this vein
Also Cama please stay at LB and save us from Mendy. The difference is night and day.
Vini should have scored at the end but has been excellent finally. Our final balls have been poor though particularly from the right eventhough Rodrygo has played very very good. We need to offer more options in the box imo

That save on Kubo's late attempt. I believe it's still a long season, tough game though

Or tell the club get someone like Fran and put Cama back in his actual position.

Fran has been signed but won't be with us till the summer. Nice little signing. Hope we move on from Mendy quickly.
With how Barca are shithousing their way to victories don't think the league is within our reach. We should focus on the two cup competitions imo. F CWC!!!

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
I don't agree with the league being out of reach. It's only February and Barcelona are not necessarilly convincing. Xavi has done a good job as far as being pragmatic and going for results over style. But one bad result I feel can shake their team.
It's not the barca of the messi era where they would just beat everyone in the league 4 nil and a draw would seem like a loss. I think we are more difficult to beat than they are. My biggest concern with us is fatigue....and sometimes being unimaginative. But we are a solid reactionary side

That’s just Hala overreaction again! Any of the top 6 clubs can come up with a difficult game for us or Barca! They all are good clubs and not that much below both of us. Their issue is consistency. These guys that call la liga race over as early as December are just overreactions! The title will go right down to end of season!

Ceballos has been unstopable these last few weeks. Camavinga too. Hopefuly the rest start to up their games too
Valverde is in abit of a dip in form. We need him in form for the CL

I love Camavinga at left-back, hope he stays there for a long time, as I believe he’s better there than in midfield, considering how one-footed he is. He’s been fantastic. Maybe he could move back to the center later in his career, when he’s more experienced and not as quick. Build on his link-up with Vini, and we have the best left flank in the world again.

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
Ceballos on that side is very important too. Both Cama and Vini take alot of risks and turn over the ball alot so having Ceballos there to do the dirty work is honestly the best thing that could happen to Vini especially. Hope we keep that triangle going for a while as I could see this allow Vini to take the next step in his development.

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
I just don’t see Bellingham coming. It’s the same issue with Mbappe. I.e Mbappe coming would mean what for Vinicius?
In Bellingham case, you already have a very good evolving misfield in Camavinga, Tchouameni and Valverde and now it looks like a very much improved Ceballos, who looks like will be renewed. while Ceballos will likely accept a backup or rotational role, I doubt whether any of the three would accept that. You could argue that the flexibility of Camavinga and Valverde could make for alternative roles for them, their prime position is in the midfield and likely they wouldn’t accept it.
Bottom line Bellingham coming means the exit of one of them, likely Camavinga and similarly Mbappe coming would mean Vinicius exit!

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
Ceballos is good, but not that good. Fantastic form though. We still need a world class creative midfielder and Sir Jude Bellingham is the best we can get, especially if, hopefully, Camavinga stays at LB.
Valverde - Tchouameni - Bellingham with Ceballos as backup is a fantastic midfield.

Re: The Official Real Madrid 21-22 Match Day Thread
Camavinga WILL NOT stay at LB! You’re basically saying Bellingham will push Camavinga out!
Edit: you’re also listening to Marca bullshit that RMad have inside track on Bellingham! Why would a he want to go to Madrid when anyone of three or four rich clubs in his homeland want him? The day that RMad can get any top player in the world are gone! Particularly when we have already over past three years put in place our new midfield. And now add to the fact the cost escalation that will happen in the inevitable bidding battle plus the fact that Bellingham will require one of the three import quotas (the other two likely going to Endick and Tobias) which would mean no chance of signing the next promising South American for next 5+ years!
