As usual Casemiro dominating the midfield whenever he plays KDB. It's becoming routine now

People are quick to compare Haaland to Ibra because of his athleticism but he is nothing like Ibra at all. Ibra is comfortable with his back to goal, is very technical and can play with both route 1 and when his team has alot of possession. Haaland becomes really anonymous whenever City keep 60-70% of possession. He is in the wrong team. Ironically, Utd would probably suit him better while City would suit Martial better.

He is legit. Been a thorn in our backside whenevr we've faced Shaktar. Certainly better than the likes of Antony and Grealish imo. Utd and City created a precedence when buying those players. Evryone will demand 100M now. Imagine when it's time for Kvaradona to leave Napoli. Their president will take some sorry ass to the cleaners

Utd should never have let Grealish get at the end of that header. Bar that play KDB and City created nothing

Spoiler:

Casemiro did everything better than the City midfield and he is actually just a CDM and not a playmaker without defensive responsibility Laughing

Post by Casciavit Sat Jan 14, 2023 1:13 pm

The issue with Mudryk is that he's barely been a starter and he's already 23. He has a nice profile but that's a 30M project signing at max not a 100M signing at all.

Also for years I kept hearing bitching and complaining about City's spending between 2016-2017 when they spent 300-400M to do a big squad renewal since half their players were over 30.

Chelsea's spending has been worse yet no one says anything. At least City had an actual squad building project. All I see from Chelsea is them buying defenders and mythfielders who can only play in one specific role which is like a 9.5, and suck on the wing, as a 9, or as a CM.

One thing he never managed to shake off after all these years: his unbelievably annoying mind games.

I believe the context was "we can't win at this moment" and he's absolutely right. Have you seen City? They look so bad recently. Even Gundogan said they lack motivation.

Will they turn it around? Maybe. They don't have a 2020 Liverpool who is running away with the title so they can still comeback. They just don't look convincing and it's worrying to the coaching staff.

This is one of the worst offside non calls I've seen in my life. How the refs called it a goal is absolutely beyond me and I would be furious if I were a City fan. Furious. Insane when viewers at home can point out an offside that the refs somehow can't. The decision is to the point of questioning the legitimacy of the game in question as far as I'm concerned. No ref should ever have decided that was on.

Yeah, I think they've looked pretty lethargic and largely indifferent since right before the world cup started. Pretty much only Bernardo Silva is exempt from that criticism. If they can regain their explosiveness soon, I think they're very much still in the title race, but they only have themselves to blame if they keep playing like this. Regardless of the officiating, they're not playing like they really want to win.

Also, I appreciate you seeing it as a slump, as opposed to every player on the team suddenly sucking lol. It's getting so damn old. I think it was the other way around when they were playing at Old Trafford. City looked like the team that wanted to win it more, and the difference in quality was apparent then.

easy stuff... still the only team to break the 40-pt mark, and we'll be on to 50 after we serve revenge on United next weekend.

Martinelli seems to have caught a midseason dip. ESR returning just in time, hope he catches up to speed soon. Still need reinforcements. Hopefully we can keep our transfer targets behind closed doors away from Chelsea's ears.

I'd go for Trossard if I was Arteta. Might even turn out better than Mudryk and might even get him for less than we were prepared to give Shakthar for Mudryk.

Lloris is past it unfortunately. Needs to go. The difference today was the keepers. That and Conte managing to fuck up another first half like always.

Lloris always sucked, never understood his overrated-ness.

Man C I only saw the highlights but it seemed pretty clear they played suicide going all out attack n got countered non stop? Pep teams cant defend for shit so its no surprise it still plays with such a big weakness. Even with Haaland n De Bruyne link up magic n Mahrez in good form etc., u cant always win with such big weakness, been the case for yrs.

That no offside decision I thought was pretty simple? They considered Rashford not part of the play since he never touched the ball? Hence only counting Fernandez who was on side.

I think it makes sense what he alludes to regarding the desensitization of winning something multiple times. A comment argument on the internet after Haaland's arrival had been announced, was that he would make the team worse since they were already winning the league and were "guaranteed to win it again". It's not like a team becomes more motivated to fight for something when they've already won it multiple times. I think it's quite miraculous that they won it as many times as they did, with mostly the same players.

still seething over the palace game..bogey team for us, but to drop points in injury time from a freekick...felt like a loss. We beat Arsenal without Casemiro already this season but I don't think it'll happen twice sadly. Hope the players step up without him, he's been MOTM for us damn near every game since he joined..huge loss. Hope we get top 4 tbh and new owners by the summer who back Ten Hawg fully. All I care about now this season.
