when it rains it pours
imagine clubs have been aware this was coming for a while, makes Bayern and other teams comments on wanting Barca to pay up front for signings because they dont believe they'll exist in 5 years make more sense
imagine they get banned from the CL

| Atlético Madrid have asked some players, such as Lemar (done), Oblak (done), Koke, Griezmann and Félix, to lower their salaries.
— Atletico Universe (@atletiuniverse) August 23, 2022
Contacts have been positive. The goal is to defer them or even undertake contract renewals with more flexible terms.

| Not only the first team players, but also the coaching staff have been asked to reduce their salaries.

Lemar did it with a contract extension, he's gash so it makes sense
Felix has no reason to
pay the man

Santi Mina is appealing his sexual abuse conviction, forcing Celta to still respect their contract. So meanwhile, he'll go play on loan for a Saudi club.

Btw, Saudi Arabia has no extradition agreement with Spain. So even if the ruling stands, good luck getting him back to Spain? https://t.co/y9dhTDrVoM

Atlético Madrid players will no longer offer their shirts to fans after games.
— Zach Lowy (@ZachLowy) August 24, 2022
Instead, fans will have to download the Momento Market app and place bids on match-worn shirts in a digital auction.

UEFA have checked Barça's accounting for the 18/19, 19/20 and 20/21 seasons, focusing on the last one. At first, it looks like Barça could actually be sanctioned by UEFA. However they won't be, as clubs can 'fix' their situation, which Barça have already done.
UEFA have strategically leaked the information about Barça possibly being sanctioned, knowing that the club have already done their due diligence to make that impossible. What they're doing is following their protocol by checking Barça's accounts, nothing more.
Why Barça have not broken UEFA's FFP rules:
- They're within the 50% limit for losses during the pandemic seasons
- Players have been paid their salary on time
- The losses for the 20/21 season were inflated
- Acquired €717m in 'levers' to balance the books

Anyway all this lever bullshit was precisely done to comply with the FFP so I reckon we’re fine

Note the rules for Ffp change after this year so the list is so of cleaning house before new list is dreamed up!

The meeting to decide on sanctions for the 10 clubs that breached FFP regulations will be chaired by Nasser Al-Khelaifi. @diarioas #rmlive

Re: EA Sports La Liga 2022/23
La Liga rechecking Barça's last economic lever and the transfer of Umtiti are what allowed Barcelona to register Kounde - with some margin as well.

We also loaned out Nico, Collado and sold Puig…that counts too no?
Braithwaites contract will be terminated too

Re: EA Sports La Liga 2022/23
As for those loan players, how much are you realistically saving with that? Probably max 5ME and you need close to 20ME.
Bssides Braithwait is refusing to leave unless you pay his termination clause
I still don't see how this sudden news that Barca can register Kounde stems from because I haven't see Barca stump up the money they need to register him.
This looks like the league making Barca an exception

Re: EA Sports La Liga 2022/23
And they would have made Madrid an exception if that was the case. Simply put the economic pull from Barça and Madrid are too high for La Liga to ignore. They need them to be competitive in Europe otherwise nobody will watch La Liga any more.halamadrid2 wrote:This looks like the league making Barca an exception
