Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2022/23
According to Sport Barca have made a 15 ME offer for Inigo now after signing Kounde. Apparently, Xavi's told him thatsigning Kounde is will not change his stance on signing Inigo this summerMyesyats wrote:The Inigo rumors were used by Barca to distract the media when they worked on Kounde behind the scenes
Inigo could happen but on a free next summer though I doubt it

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2022/23
besides, if true, Bilbao will reject the offer anyway, they want 50m fixed
and then also Inigo would be our 6th CB man. That's overkill. I think they are focused on the LB & RB positions now as well as departures which are necessary with regards to the high-earners. Bernardo is willing to wait until the end of the window so they'll take it easy

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2022/23
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants the club to sign Chelsea attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech (29), but members of the recruitment department are not unanimous about his profile, hence the lack of current movement on any possible deal, according to @Nabil_djellit.

TenHag is giving out red flags vibes
You'd think football only exists in the dutch league.

why? Because it worked once? I thought he put him there because he isn'ta very good passer. Shame, he could've been a great CB for another teamMyesyats wrote:Xavi just loves to put Araujo at RB vs Vinicius so seems like we’ll be seeing more of Araujo at right back next season in more important games lol

matter of time Bill
So with Azpi and I assume Alonso off the list, the only remaining desired is Silva. There are currently 26 on squad. So to sign Silva, Barca just need to get rid of 2.
But as you complained earlier, the high salaries ones (de Jong and de Pay) aren’t inclined to leave and of the other possibilities, both Umtiti and Brathwaite are wanting to stay. We have been trying for 3 years to do same with Mariano, a buyout is not easily done.
That leaves just Neto and possibly Pjanic!
It’s not as easy as you keep making it out to be!
And even if you do get rid of 2, having 2 or 3 on squad leads to discontent which can be problematic.
I might add, how the club handles these situations affects the players perception of the club. Buying out contracts, denying paying contractual agreements will definitely hurt club’s reputation. There already are reports club has leaked financial details to apply pressure from fans, as you no doubt have taken up the cause! I wonder if you would have the same attitude if your employer pulled same stunt on you?

He put him there to man mark Vinicius pretty much and i think it worked well in the 4-0 win and recently in the preseason friendly. Defensively more solid while giving up some attacking options on the right wing

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2022/23
It didn't work because we were all over the place. Leaving Vinicius on his own. Not because Araujo was some sort of kryptonite. That's probably where he is the least liability to the way Xavi wants to play. Wasn't he subbed at HT against some EL team.Myesyats wrote:halamadrid2 wrote:why? Because it worked once? Anyhow, like you said, you might do well defensively but you'll lose alot in attack. We've seen it firsthand with Mendy

I read you also want to buy out Mariano contract! Laporte didn’t sign these parasites that now don’t want to move along… I’m not worried because The board of directors should worry about that since that’s their job, worst case the likes of Braithwaite will go out on loan and we pay a % of the wages

Araujo had Vinicius in his pocket let’s be honest. This guy is like a brick wall. And he’s a danger from set pieces too. He’s one of the most exciting young CBs tbh

Re: Summer Transfer Rumours 2022/23
we've never asked them to forfeit the money they are owed though and we've made some mindboggling purchases over the years. Mariano situation has gotten to the point where even his agent has begged him to leave. We've found at least half a dozen clubs for him with one even willing to match his wages but he wanted them to increase it (no kidding). He's the real definition of a parasite. Can't stand him, wish we were as ruthless as Barca, lwaving him at home to find his own destination. He and others are far too comfortable sitting on their millions bleeding us dry. Irritating!Myesyats wrote:futbol_bill wrote:Myesyats wrote:Neto is very close to bournemouth

I am not saying he didn't. He's a great defender no doubt but I doubt Xavi likes him as a CB. He's even taken him out early a few timesMyesyats wrote:halamadrid2 wrote:It didn't work because we were all over the place. Leaving Vinicius on his own. Nearly €74m in total for Cucurella, the most expensive full back in history. Boehly fleeced, he‘ll learn the hard way how European football works.

Barcelona are really close to signing Marcos Alonso! Talks are progressing well with Chelsea after Cucurella deal completed, personal terms agreed months ago. Been told it's now really close.
