Kounde literally stalled until Barca submitted an official offer which took very long. He traveled with the team on preseason to Portugal and Chelsea didnt want him to. They very ineffective in negotiations partly because Kounde wanted to hear what Barca's offer would be and dragged on his decision until the week after

Doesnt really matter tbh. It just seems weird that they wanted to sign him for 3 years and then pulled out last minute? I remember reading about them having trouble aagreeing personal terms with the player actually

But yeah there were several rumors that Kounde was open to both destinations

Monchi said Barca made the better offer and that Kounde always preferred Barca if we went for him, if true goes to show the pulling power Barca still has

Monchi also said, they had reached a deal with Chelsea and that Chelsea didn’t follow thru with deal completion.

This statement from Kounde is consistent with what the reports said including romero

I think Monchi said kounde was "sold to chelsea" because they agreed on a fee but chelsea didnt  agree personal terms with player yet at that point.

i am not bothered by missing out on Kounde, he wasn’t really a priority at Chelsea. We pushed for many CBs before going back. I think that probably rubbed him the wrong way.

We are in for Wesley Fofana, i have not payed much attention to him but he is getting insane hype. He definitely has the technical and physical ability to be special.

It would be shitty to get rejected for Chelsea but yeah, I genuinely don't care about FDJ. Don't think he's fixing our midfield issues int he slightest. I just wish something definitive would happen with him so we can move on.
