Haaland's next destination
Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
Barca of course can't afford Haaland, evrything else is just propaganda and posturing.
Salah?
English tabloids may claim he's a done dealio to City but I'm still convinced he'll go to Real in summer.

Year ago you were probably saying "Barca of course will take at least 7-10 years to get back top"
Now you're saying Barca of course can't afford Haaland
In 1 or 2 years you will be saying "Barca of course can't win the double"
and so on
Meanwhile we keep riding and don't care for the barking dogs

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
I would say Barcelona or City. He probably wants Madrid, but with Mbappe, Vini and Big Benz there, and his BDO aspirations, I think he will go to Barca.
Rumours saying that City saying he should come to City and he can go to Madrid afterwards.
His injury record should be a concern as well.

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
He should take note of all these youngsters who opted for money and stagnated their careers and go to Madrid regardless of who pays him the most. Barça have a style that won't get the best out of him. City can be a better option once Guardiola leaves because there is no style associated with City like there is with Barcelona.
For Laporta, signing Haaland might be a a dick waving contest. But he should remember the last time he lost Beckham to Florentino it ended up working for him. Beckham was a far worse fit for Barcelona, whereas Ronaldinho kickstarted the clubs re-emergence as a European powerhouse.

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
City about to make Haaland the highest paid player in Europe barring the overpaid duo at QSG. Yup, they were the only ones in the race. No way other teams match that
Understand now why Uncle flo has been complaining about state-owned teams. Can't wait to see Newcastle make Dembele the highest paid player in the world

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
Why are you surprised? They were splashing £225m on Kane and Grealish last year, during COVID with zero match day revenue
Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
So we lost on Mbappe, now Haaland also ! I hope we manage to find another hidden gem somewhere.
If City sign Haaland, will anyone be able able to compete against them in EPL ! I don't think so

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
Were you ever in the race for Mbappe?
There will be no bidding war for Haaland like Raiola wants. The race for his signature has lasted 1 day. City put a blank check forward to Raiola and they took it
Maybe they'll finally win the CL now who knows

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
You were about to pay 200m for Mbappe in his final year contract Madrid likely backed out becuase it seems they want a release clause in his contract similar to Dortmund.

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
Never seen a player come to our team with a plan to leave a few years later. Laughable. But then again We've never had Raiola clients either
We have tracked Mbappe since he was a teen. We made a bid for him when he was still at Monaco. There was only ever going to be Madrid with him. QSG offered him a blank check but he still wanted to come. Those are the players Perez goes all out for.
I don't even think we were serious with our bids. We made our first official bid about a week before the transfer window closed. We've never done that with player we really want.
We are never ones to enter bidding wars with other teams. Perez wants players to make commitments before we go all out for them. Perez probably saw what City offered and pulled out with Haaland now having to choose money or "his preferred destination ". I wouldn't blame him for going to City. They will always be fighting for the big trophies and he will get paid handsomely.

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
Honestly, just like I didn't like Mbappe going for a Pep team (tg it didn't happen)... I don't think it's great for Haaland either. These guys are fast and direct. Not saying City play like Barca of old at all. But they do like the short, intricate passes to goals.
But heck, Sterling made it work. I'm sure Haaland will too. I just would have loved witb a team that plays fast because that's where he's really a beast... at his size, he has no business moving that fast lol.

I completely agree with this. At the same time, if he opted not to join us because he was more keen on building on his own profile in a team that doesn't already have a young, star forward, then that makes sense as well. I'm definitely skeptical about how Pep would intend to play him, but in terms of building a legacy as a young forward, Manchester City is a very appealing destination right now.

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
Why should he beg? Literally, there's a plethora of clubs begging him to join them.
This is the moment for him to be picky.
Madrid has no reliable number 9 after Benzema retires and if you look around in the market, there's nobody worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as him.
Madrid needs him more than he needs them.
In fact, thinking about it, he doesn't need Madrid at all.

We need him as much as we need any other world class player in positions we need.
I'm all for signing him but if he wants more money than Mbappe and a short term deal with release clause then he can f off to City.
bringing him with those conditions ( if true ) is more harmful for the club than it does any good.
if not, he is welcomed.

Mbappe can play the 9 if needed... it will be like Thierry Henry. That style. It would work fine if need be.
But I agree... if you can get Haaland, you get him.

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
Mbappe should just specialize in that CR LW/SS role. It’s better to have your striker fixed in central spaces nowadays. Mbappe’s first instinct is to move to open spaces on the left. Might as well have him start there.

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
Haaland isn’t making 500k base lmao. Maybe with bonuses. KDB is making 320k per year base and he’s arguably the best player in the PL. City isn’t going to break their wage structure to that degree.

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
Barça has told Haaland's entourage that they are willing to pay his full release clause that expires on April 30th.
However, they admit that their economic offer won't be as good as Manchester City's. They hope that other factors can influence his decision.
Many rumours about salary, money… but he’s focused on project, manager and other factors.

Not april fools cause it was reported 2-3 days ago but still hard to believe since laporta said he won't put the club at risk financially
190m over 5 years so 38m so 20m net. Man City's best paid KDB is on 20,8m net per year, wonder how much City are splurting out to tie him down

Re: Erling Haaland's adventures in Manchester City
Imagine being Dembélé and watching scrubs like Torres being signed for €55+10 millions and a Haaland deal worth €190m.
The guy has every right to want to leave tbh.
