The issue is off the ball and the profiles on the ball though. With Davies he could drop back into a back 4 letting Bayern defend in a 4-4-2. Also with Davies it was Coman playing as a RW in those isolated areas and not someone meh in 1v1 situations like Gnabry.

Now Coman is playing on the left and his selfishness is a lot more annoying. He wants to cut inside when Sane is already there. The Davies injury has been such a big miss. You defend in a back 5 now with two wingers right?

Bayern should have the individual quality to win despite those weaknesses. It’s just that defending with 4 on the ball is something even Pep has given up and he’s obsessed with control. It makes Bayern too open on the counters. If he plays like this against actual big teams in the CL that will be incredibly risky.

Yeah but one of the 6 was Phonzie who acts as a defender too because he has that engine and that recovery speed, basically a cheat code

Since Phonzie is unavailable, Nagelsmann's system has crashed. And Musiala is much weaker against the ball than Goretzka, and tactically weaker too

What's Goretzeka's deal anyways? Why's he always injured?

What about Brehme, I thought he was great, best player for them in 90 in my opinion. You have to like him.

Robert Lewandowski is Bayern's all time best striker and one of the best of all time.

Change my mind.

He hasn’t had a decisive or memorable moment in the CL against a top team after the R16 since scoring 4 against Madrid in 2013.

Even in the 2020 run he was stat padding in the last minute after Bayern already had a comfortable lead.

Hasn’t done shit internationally either. Of course he plays with Poland, but I wouldn’t be able to tell you any memorable performance he had with them against a good international team. He dunks on teams like Latvia. You’ll never see him pull off a Ibra-England one man show performance against a bigger team in international level. Does he even have an Ibra-Portugal moment where it was his individual brilliance keeping his team in the game despite his teammates being inferior?

I’d probably take prime Suarez over prime Lewa tbh.

My reverence for Lewa is due to his mind-boggling prolificacy as many moments exist where he has bailed out his team even if its against the Hertha Berlins and Estonias as naturally big games will stand out more where he looks oddly stiff and isolated in such moments even if thats teams figuring out how to isolate Bayern (depending on the season).

I take Lewa for what he is as of course its hyperbole but for a man to be this prolific, consistent and at this age is utterly remarkable.
