Re: UCL Ro16 2021/22 | PSG vs Real Madrid
It is what it is. Psg also have a lot of structural problems so they can’t really take advantage of messi. But you need to run off the ball and press in the modern game. This isn’t the 90’s anymore. And his dribbling has gone down in quality significantly

What great performance? I have seen Shaun Wright Phillips kick it forward blindly, score 2 offside goals and get something in the back of the net due a shit keeper for ever.

On the Dollarumma "foul". It was body pressure, and only through shooting the ball did he actually make contact with Benz, so the ref didn't count it as a foul, and neither did the VAR (which would have intervened if it was).
It's just typical poor footwork from Raiola's pet.
Still does not explain the subsequent choking from this soft bellied team of mercenaries. Modric and Benz had more balls than the entire team plus bench combined.

Err, you sound like a contrarian. You’ve had this attitude recently. I don’t understand why but okay.
Carvajal got torn up yet again. He scored the two goals of the tie and did everything correctly. It was Neymar in particular and Messi to a lesser extent messing everything up. Rodrygo deserves credit and so does LV, but mbappe easily could’ve had more.
Courtois a shit goalkeeper. Alright my guy. It’s time for bed

So respond to my comment and be direct with your thoughts, that’s what mature people do. Clearly, mbappe was PSG’s best player over two ties. Do you disagree, and why? Only veratti was comparable

Don't know why you criticise Messi when half of PSG were considerably worse. Very kneejerk.
Neymar, Marquinhos, Mendes and Donnarumma were the culprits here. And the whole PSG mentality. Unbelievable how they lost the game in 45 minutes from an excellent position at half time. Catastrophic failure.
Genuinely hope Verratti and Mbappé leave next season. I think it is safe to say Mbappé is already wearing a white shirt but Verratti still has 2 seasons left at this club. Still, I would have handed my transfer request immediately if I were him.

This comeback is better than Barcas 6-1. All grit. All hard work. All determination. No questionable ref decisions or diving to be seen.

3 of the goals came from individual mistakes.

Well there’s no question messi didn’t cause the loss. That’s definitely not his fault and I agree with your thoughts. I just believe he should’ve went to a team that emphasizes his strengths. City can cover for his lack of pressing, for example. But he easily could’ve won the tie if he was at his best, some of his moves were promising but he doesn’t have the physicality to pull them off anymore

Re: UCL Ro16 2021/22 | PSG vs Real Madrid
Karim fucking Benzema. What a man. His renaissance in his mid 30s has been something else. All time Real Madrid legend no doubt.
Paris is such a shit team. Pochettino just loses when the cards are on him as his team have no structure or imagination at all.
Only victors from them has been Mbappe, Verratti and Di Maria as this was Paris's chance to keep Kylian now he definitely will salivate a chance to jump ship.
Messi is utterly finished. Cant wait till our clown brother Harmonica picks some nifty gifs and uses stats from a website he owns (and tampers with) to show otherwise but the last time Messi scored v Real Madrid I was barely a graduate.
Congratulations to all my Madrileños here. Wonderful victory from the dead. Enjoy my friends.

Lacks explosion to get into higher areas when starting from deep and PSG don't have any patterns to get him into those areas.
I think defensively this was the hardest he worked in a long time. When was the last time you saw him defending at the edge of his own box?
PSG is an awful side tactically. He's part of the problem but Poch doesn't help matters.

I responded to this game as you mentioned in your earlier post. For this game, Mbappe was nothing more than a Adama Traore for a counter attacking team. Sure, he beat a man occasionally, won a yellow well done, and scored a goal which was jammy at best due to shit keeping but it was not outstanding and in comparison Vinicius who's team was playing from behind, not keeping the ball at home, Vinicius did much more than Mbappe.
I am 100% sure he created more key chances, more dribbles, and he obviously played a key part in all 3 key goals. Mbappe who is supposed to 100 times the player did nothing outside kicking a ball and running at it all game. Verrati was the only one in that side this game who was decent the time he played.

Re: UCL Ro16 2021/22 | PSG vs Real Madrid
Of course he is not at his best, he will never be. He has been on a steep decline for 2 seasons now because he will be *drumrolls* 35 in a couple of months, the age where most players retire. Who in their right mind expect him to run past players like he is 23?FennecFox7 wrote:Well there’s no question messi didn’t cause the loss. My gripe was at these people acting surprised/butthurt with these "hE iS fIniShEd" comments. Is this the first time these people have watched a player's full career?
Re: UCL Ro16 2021/22 | PSG vs Real Madrid
Mbappe was tearing up Real's right side, causing several yellows, scored a goal, and teed up two glorious chances to Neymar who missed.
Both of PSG's goals were moments of clear brilliance, and fuck that noise about Courtois's "shit goal keeping", that's a WC GK, and was basically fooled by the shot but still got hand on it, but it was too powerful and accurate to be saved.
It's not even close, and if QSG didn't choke in the second half, the tie would be won entirely due to his efforts.
And I am saying this as someone who isn't a fan of the player.

Re: UCL Ro16 2021/22 | PSG vs Real Madrid
Messi is nowhere near the problem he just...doesnt do much especially against good defences.
PSG's problems extend beyond that be it the bland Poch to their no chemistry to no definite system.
Just a poorly managed locker room.

Nishankly is all jealous because he knows the cheap bastards at Liverpool can not afford Mbappe !
I am now super confused which team I would like to face in the next round. I would say bring the best of what is left and we will suffer the win against anyone going ahead.

I had told you guys a decade ago that Poch is a noob when he prioritized EPL game over the great Europa league while at Spurs. No sense of how to manage squad and games.
So now Poch to Utd path has been cleared in the summer.
