Koeman is tactically inept. There was a total disconnect between Pedri, de Jong and Busquets. Going out in a 3-5-2 is synonymous with putting up a white flag. Depay was never going to create anything up front alone, totally alone because Luuk De Jong is like a ghost. We can't attack without the wings, so Koeman's plan was to concede as few as possible and that's it.... he even said after the game "Bayern are better, it is what it is". Just because someone is better at a given moment, doesnt matter we can't bite at all. Going out only to defend is already like accepting a loss.

After the woeful finish to La Liga last season,another embarrassment vs Bayern, I feel like Koeman is hanging by a thread.

This Bayern doesn't have the best players at every position but they're a well structured team. We have quality players too, but our team is so disjointed it's unbelievable. There is no flexibility at all in Koeman's approach. Even mediocre teams can bite but it starts with the coaching and we've been mismanaged for 5 years straight.

You can see by the players he is interested in.... Trying to land every average Dutch guy at Barca. Just an average mindset.

I'd blame Sergi Roberto again, but the fact is when a Bayern player receives the ball in his position, they have 3 passing options. But when Roberto receives the ball, he had 3 whiteshirts in front of him and 0 passing options except to pass back of course. Not enough dynamism but also awful positioning.

Koeman is even more negative, more clueless and more self absorbed than Mourinho. Its quite an achievement

If you are a great player you stand out even in mediocre team. DeJong has never stood out in a big game. He's been as bad as his colleagues in those games. Is he another one of those players that needs everything to be 100% optimal for him to be WC like he's been hyped up to be. Meh

De Jong is a non-attacking midfielder, and his contributions will always be influenced by the quality of players around him and the final result. Unlike an attacker, who could still score and look good in a poor team.

Yesterday, he was the only Barca player actually doing his job against one of the strongest teams in the competition. If you actually watched the match and can't see that he played well despite the conditions of the team and the opposite, then I simply don't trust your judgement on the matter.

It's no big fricking surprise that players in a weaker team look worse when play a stronger team.

Also, I don't know why you are strawmanning the conversation by bringing in Vini into the conversation (who plays a completely different position).

What's the point of a player like him then? Wasn't he hyped as the one that could control the midfield and drive the ball forward? And why shouldn't we expect goals from him? He's hardly a DM. I made the Vini comparison to highlight the double standard. People were expecting Vini to be the guy to put in 20 goals despite being only 20 years old, new to Europe and playing for a similar pragmatic coach in Zidane. But he always stuck out in the big games. Never hid even if more often than not his decision making failed him. And here we are telling ourselves that being bang average is ok when you play for a finished team

De Jong is often not the flashy type player, a comparison I would raise is Jorginho. I used to think hes invisible in the games that I watch of Chelsea, only until the Euros I noticed and focused watching him more and then u realize what he does. De Jong at Ajax was mainly a DM purely if Im correct? Hes actually developed alot at Barca into a much more rounded players already.

Vini Im hoping he continues to improve which he has done already, even as a rival fan, such exciting young players are a joy to watch when they play at their max. potential.
