Increasingly looks like Arteta actually does want to sell both Aubameyang and Lacazette but no one wants to buy them.

Going to be a long season. Again.

Nah he is past it. horrible last season followed by a lackluster pre-season. He has declined physically and lost his best attribute.

A manager's job is to utilize the best available players. If you dont have the right players that you think you are going to need you f****ing resign (look at conte). If you are being backed by money you buy players that you might be able to utilize in case of injury/suspension.

If we have kept Saliba and not bought White. The result would have been 3-0 at best? And we would have saved 50m atleast. Although I might be thinking very short term here. But the second goal we conceded raised so many points in my mind.

If leno doesnt know what to do when a defender is blocking/holding him then we will concede 2 goals per match at the very least as everyone knows that now.

White was no more than 2 feet away from where the ball bounced in the 6 yard box. Why would he let the ball bounce?

Brentford practiced long throw a day before the match and that translated into a match day goal, why cant we has this effectiveness in whatever we do? We just bought a f*ng set piece coach and all we do is f* at set pieces be it offensive or defensive.

When was the last time we saw a "legal" crunching tackle made by an arsenal player??? Players dont want to get hurt and cant put there bodies on the line for winning/not losing. We dont do it anymore as players dont care about conceding and losing (thats what I think atleast).

The Ozil and Guendouzi curses will haunt us for decades.

Auba, Laca, Willian and Runarsson all have/had Covid hence their absence vs Brentford.

Don't know why the club didn't just say, but there you go.

This somewhat explains the lethargy the team showed against brentford. Players would have been thinking about their last close contact with the infected players. Lets hope all 4 are alright.

With all these issues happening at right back, I would hope AMN realizes he has an opportunity that won't come again. Chambers is going to get eaten up during the Chelsea game

Seems like a great guy who is very happy to be here. Was sad though unsurprised people were sending him abuse before he had even signed.

Anyway compared to Leno he's:

- Stronger and more assertive on crosses (88th percentile for high claims vs 66th percentile for Leno)
- Just as good, if not better, shot stopper
- Makes fewer mistakes leading to goals (3 in 75 apps vs Leno's 8 in 98 in the PL)

So actually seems a genuine upgrade on Leno? Just waiting to see how he is at playing out.

Yea i wasn't sure earlier about him but he does seem like a great guy who genuinely wants to be at Arsenal to prove himself.

I hope he is a big upgrade on Leno whom i have lost faith in. I won't mind if he starts against Chelsea.

Leno; Cedric, Holding, Mari, Tierney; Sambi, Xhaka; Saka, Smith Rowe, Pepe; Martinelli

White has illness. Take cedric and Xhaka out and this is a very very young squad.

Not mentioning subs as its really depressing after comparing with chelsea subs.

Can't say I'm expecting much. I just don't see where the goals are going to come from.

Lukaku starts for Chelsea which will make their transitions even deadlier.

Saka not covering at all. Xhaka too central to provide any cover on the left. Arteta did nothing to cover that space even after the first goal. Martinelli hasnt had a touch as far as I saw in a bit laggy stream neither have a seen any direct pass played through to him either.

Chelsea team is what arteta wished arsenal were. Back 5 are too comfortable on the ball and passing around our non existent press with ease. Cedric hasnt overlapped Pepe once hence he has no where to pass except backwards to Lokonga.

Both centre backs got a yellow in the chelsea half. There was no need to go to ground for any of the two. Arteta is an amazing coach but he needs a PSG type team to show that greatness. If a player turns up and does something amazing it will ease the pain, not expecting arteta to do anything to change this result as I think he *doesnt know*.

Artetta a good coach. Maybe for a great manager where he does not need to evaluate players, put together a team or come up with tactics. So if he works for a Pep and only really has to cover for him when he is out for a game or two do to sickness or something.

Hoping that this is not the year that we are made to realize that Holding, Saka and ESR are really nothing more than good players on a bad team. Not the world class game changers many think they are.

Trust the process (of attaining the art to lose to a promoted team and champions league winner by the same score line).

we all know by now that Holding isn't a gamechanger lol, but he is probably our best CB currently... which is saying something

Emile and Saka need better players around them, it would be silly to expect them to level up into world class players in this current state of affairs under Arteta's dire coaching.

Arteta should have never gone away from the 343 formation. It may not be ideal, or serve for a brand of attacking football. But let's be honest he has no brand of attacking football. We were stable defensively in that formation, and players seemed to know their role, and even if they as players are limited in certain aspects, they at least worked hard. We could have turned ourselves into a counter attacking team because players like Saka, Martinelli, ESR, Pepe, Auba (i would like to think he still has some lol) they all have pace and can outrun defenders. Even Lonkoga now seems like a good passer at the base of the midfield, he could have helped play those long balls and decisive passes in behind defenses.
