In any case, what you said is demonstrably false. They did a VAR check on the penalty. That means that they had to be calling it a foul (or dive) from Harry Kane, instead of a foul before the potential penalty foul.

The refs made a clear mistake, because it was contact and a penalty. I'd have to see the contact on the collision before the penalty shout because that may have been a foul from Kane, but it was not called that way.

The free kick is for Kane kicking the Danish player who played the ball back into his own area not for the collision in the area. VAR checking for pen does not change the fact that ref blew the whistle for that.

For argument's sake lets still see the collision. I see this and I see Kane who gets into the Danish player first. Not a penalty.

Yeah that's the wrong decision. Kane gets to the ball first and Norgaard (I think) leaves his foot in and makes contact with Kane's right leg, bringing him down. That's a clear penalty. You can't make the argument that Kane kicks or gets into Norgaard because their upper bodies don't collide, and all Kane does is nick the ball, he never kicks into the Danish player, but rather his leg is taken out as his body moves forward.

This is analogous to a forward running onto a ball a defender is running onto, getting to it first, and then getting tackled as the ball has gone past the defender. It's a less clear cut version than that, but it's essentially the same thing, and to me that's a very clear penalty.

VAR didn't think so, but VAR thought a clear dive was a foul, so I guess we cannot trust them here

The big problem with "clear and obvious" as a threshold is it greatly favours the on-field decision. So it comes down to a coin flip on the original decision and puts everything on the on-field ref, which defeats the purpose of VAR being there to correct bad decisions.

As I said before, if the ref decisions it's not a pen, VAR wouldn't overturn his decision.

Made no sense why Denmark took off Dolberg and Damsgaard so early on.

The Danes are awfully tired.

Braithwaite completely messed up several chances in regular time, and now they can't do anything.
