Italy look dangerous on the counter though. The problem is players are going for goal themselves and losing the ball instead of passing it. They could have had three potential one on ones if the players passed properly.

Italy midfield runs after the ball but it's disorganized, keep composure is better

Barella got that ball fairly wihtout any contact on busquets... ref gives it in favor of spain... poor decision

they could but also.... italy is attempting also this long range attempt ... and thast coming from guys like bonucci and chellini.

a lot less effect and efforts from midfield tbh...

this is what i hate Italy seeing SPain play... this is not new this has always been SPain's strength to hold possesion move ball too much to frustate Italy

This half is Spain's, but not by a large margin. Both sides had great chances to score, with Italy IMO actually spurning some of the best chances of the games without even shooting.

Italy needs to keep the ball and control the game better in the next half. The problem is that Immobile is useless. I wonder if Berardi can play in his place.

You see on the replay of this action, Immobile asking for a cross, he is surrounded by 4 defenders. The football IQ is close to zero.

I saw Berardi warming up which makes me nervous. I'd think outside the box: Chiesa as false 9, he'll also help the midfield to get balls back. Replace Berardi for Immobile, both wingers have tendency to cut inside.

Italian journalist close to Italy bench said that Mancini is not satisfied about Chiesa 's match and for this reason Berardi is warming up

Good game

Italy started well with their high press, but then Spain settled and had success with their press too. So much so they slightly had the better of the rest of the half. Their final ball and finishing need to improve though, Italia defense putting good pressure on them though when they get that far up the field

but infact I'd doubtful on swapping him, also because I am not particularly confident in Berardi for similar matches...

Immobile is a huge problem for Italy. He kills the counters in the making. People don't want to pass him the ball anymore. Taking Chiesa off wouldn't solve the scoring problem. I'd take off immobile for Belotti. He can annoy the CBs and lay off the ball for Chiesa/Barella.
