Too soon to say AD and Drummond doesnt work?

I know Howard and Mcgee worked, but really it was only ever truly effective against Jokic and the rest of the time they looked alot better with AD at the 5.

So many injuries that predicting a winner to this thing is impossible, who will even be available to play come the finals?

Lakers title chances took a significant dent by adding him, in terms of 5s Marc Gasol is their best if they aren't going small.

The difference in defence is drastic as the Denver game proved.

You couldnt make this up. He knows people can easily find out what he had to say about it last year when his team wasnt involved in it right?

The Nets without Harden are surprisingly weak. Perhaps it shouldnt be surprising as he want the guy putting it all together. They need him back.

If the Clippers didnt have serial choker, Paul George, you'd probably favour them to come out of the West, but its hard to have any confidence in that team until they prove it. Rondo is such a big help though, no stats will every grasp what he does out there.

Jokic pretty much got the MVP wrapped up. What they and he has done since Murray went down has wrapped this up.

LeBron approved of play-in last year as a way for teams who lost out on a chance of playoffs to still be able to compete. It made more sense last year because teams were preparing for 10 or so more games than the restart offered and thus would’ve been eliminated without a fair shot.

This year they knew from the start how many games they were to play and nothing has changed.

So comparing his thoughts last year to this year is just dishonest at best.

That said, I don’t mind it. Seems like it’s worked in a sense to have games later in the season mean something and teams are less likely to blow it all up and tank.

It seems fine so far. Combined with the better lottery odds for other teams.

That said. I’d prefer 7 seed to face 10 seed first instead of 7vs8. But let’s see what happens after we’ve seen this format played out

I think the play in is good honestly, makes the season overall matter way more and prevents tanking by a pretty large amount.

I would probably adjust it somewhat, like i probably wouldn't involve 7th seed at all for example but overall it's fine.

the Jazz are legit imo... they're basically a better version of the 2018 Rockets, the team who came closest to beating the Steph-KD Warriors. Now of course Mitchell and Conley ain't no Harden and CP3, but the supporting cast is way, way better than the one that Rockets team had. Plus Gobert is a far better centre than Capela too. They live by the 3, and they're going to die by it. But they certainly have the shooters for that strategy. Their only glaring weakness is Gobert getting eaten up in the pick n roll.

Now as for Nuggets. I'm not too sure what to make of them looking much better after Jamal went down lol. Just means Jokic is a lock for MVP i guess (even though Steph is still my personal MVP) and it also means Porter has been able to step up big time. He's such an offensive weapon already at his young age. His 3ball is incredible, and he has still room for improvement to groom his inside game and movement off the ball... Mike Malone is gonna have a tough job on his hands to balance out offensive output of Jokic, Murray and Porter when they're all fit, because just imagine that trio at full flow at their peak offensive powers down the line in the playoffs, good lord!

Your suggestions fine and I fundamentally agree, but lets not pretend Lebron isnt crying because his team is involved in it. I dont need to compare his comments with a fine tooth comb in the detail, the fundemental part is when he isnt involved in it he likes the idea, when he is involved in it, not so much. Mark Cuban and Dallas, the exact same thing.

If the Lakers were sat in 2nd place, he wouldnt care less and we all know it.

Probably so. But there's still a huge difference between it last season and now.

Imagine last season without a play in, and games just being cancelled outright with no chance of POs for teams in the run. It's not the same case and you don't need a fine tooth comb to see that.

@Mole, why is Steven Adams and Willy Gomez still stealing minutes away from Jaxson Hayes?? of course he is not perfect or a finished product yet... but dude is good enough to be the main centre partner to Zion in order for them to grow together and develop their understanding on court.

One game.

7th and 8th seed vs eachother + 9th and 10th seed vs eachother.

Winner of first matchup is 7th seed and the loser players winner of 9th vs 10th. And winner of that matchup is 8th seed.

Just seen this, Hayes isn't ready for 30 minutes a night lol is the short answer.

He probably will be at some point next season though, the growth he's shown the second half of the season has been one of this season's positives and good enough reason to focus team building on wings/guards.
