Re: Perez' vision of a perfect football world
I had to reread the posts a bit because I needed to make sure the years were 2006 and 2012, 15 and 9 years ago. The players mentioned are either retired or not part of the club nor has what Perez's thoughts were at time messed up any of their legacy's at the club.
Most importantly, this is not gonna do a damn thing and is, in my humble opinion, a waste of time. If the clusterfudge that is the Super League didn't end his career, leaked memoirs of a man bad mouthing his coworkers 9+ years would?
Would this affect our ability to sign future prospects? Probably but I am sure one's gross/net wage may be the deciding factor. I mean, Barcelona with all their rich history couldn't stop Neymar from "being his own man" elsewhere.
Perez has always been a proper asshole, a rich out of touch asshole but I care little for the man's personality and only care how he runs the club I love. Mendoza and Sanz were respected and love by the players and put the club in massive debt too.
In any case, give me our piece of shit Perez any day than whatever passes for a Barca presi these days.

This one is the standout to me. Those with power are afraid to lose it and Perez fits that bill completely. I still remember what he said about the Super League on Chiringuito. Claims that it is intended to "save football" from tyrannical Uefa.sportsczy wrote:"god forbid the peasant clubs catch up to us; that would be the end of football
Fucker just doesn't want any caps on the salary. Florentino just follows the typical Neo-Liberal agenda.

This, 1000 times this
We are the only club that made a profit in a Covid year. Say whatyou will about him but he is the best president I've ever seen. I don'tcare much for sentimentality bs. If I had an ego the size of a moumtain and was a pain in the ass to my employer i am 100 % sure they'd call me names as well. As long as they give me what i am worth i wouldn't give a shit what they'd discuss about me in private. They are taking quotes from a guy venting in private and trying to create a mountain from a molehill. Like I said unless he says something racist or homophobic it's all water under the bridge for me.
I'll jidge him on how he runs my club.

The guy who made the recording tried to extort the club to make the recordings dissappear but the club refused.
I am so proud of my club. Turned down Mendes' attempt to be part of a tax evading scheme. Refused to pay Ronaldos penalty when he got indicted and now refusing to negotiate with terrorists

Re: Perez' vision of a perfect football world
lool "refusing to negotiate with terrorists" its not that deep, its not like they're disturbing the public or public property, just florentino. btw nobody is saying flo shud leave because of this, that would be ridiculous. but it does explain a lot.....
i as well as some others, initially wasnt cool with zidane's goodbye letter, i didnt think it portrayed the club positively, and tbh, i wasnt sure if it was accurate or just heresay that zidane had been hearing from the media.
but hearing all these leaks especially the latest one about isolating media outlets that dont kiss ass (we already know marca's a puppet) that we know. but i very much understand what zizou was saying, about the media being used as pawns to basically threaten his job or backstab him....also explains why the letter was sent to AS to get published and not good ol marca.

Re: Perez' vision of a perfect football world
Pretty sure this has done him a lot of harm, I dont agree ppl will just 'forget' about this once the season starts, ppl remember, so unless he goes on to improve and shows himself for the better, I dont see how he can stay long term. I mean even if he stays, ppl in and outside the club im sure would just dislike him even more and not respect him as much.
Anyway, there are many examples of these types of things in the world outside football as well and ppl do go on I suppose, but dont think it would even be the same again.

Re: Perez' vision of a perfect football world
Nothing surprising about any of this. The fact that it's on public record now is the only interesting part.
Real Madrid got the best players because it could pay the most both in terms of fees and wages + offer a winning environment. Any winning environment in a top league that offers the best money will get the best players. It's not much deeper than that.

You clearly don’t understand the grip Flo has on the presidency. He had rules changed, all in assurance he has the job as long as he wants. Hala is right, most of this is not new and it’s all way in the past. The blackmail attempt for keeping the recordings from public was 10 million euros! That just might result in a success for the lawsuit Perez is launching.
Perez is a business man and so his thinking, at least in his early years was much about futbol didn’t make a lot of business / sales or revenue sense and thus some of his statements. And a lot of us know much of what he said is indeed true.

Re: Perez' vision of a perfect football world
"[Ozil] came here aged 21. He is third generation Turk and then he discovers Madrid. There was nothing, no Turks, dicks, third generation or girlfriend. He sent his girlfriend away and changed his lifestyle, falling for an Italian model from Milan. He had a private jet, so he would fly out there, have sex and come back. Then one day, he annoyed Jose Mourinho, who jokingly said 'Hey Ozil, idiot, let me tell you something as if I were your father, because this girl you're going out with has f**ked everyone at Inter and AC Milan, including the coaching staff of both teams.' [Ozil] ended up leaving her."
Florentino Perez's thoughts on Guti
"He's a moron, his own worst enemy. He's a mug, like a goat."
Remembering the Galacticos' dressing room
"Luis Figo is the one who pisses off the dressing room. He has been a son of a b**ch, like Raul. The two bad eggs were Figo and Raul. The best was Zinedine Zidane, without a doubt."
Hitting out at the legends of the Quinta del Buitre era
"These guys think they can live off Real Madrid until they die. It's shameful, but that's how it is. It's all of them. Buitre, Sanchis, Michel, Martin Vazquez..."
More criticism of Michel
"He is a fraudster, a terrible coach. He was coach of Castilla. I think it was Michel who forced Juan Mata out, to make space for his son."

Nothing could possibly make Perez look worse than that interview he gave on the topic of the Super League
I would never imagined, before that, that he was quite such a despicable, horrible human being, what an absolute piece of shit and villain this prick is.
Worst guy in football.

Re: Perez' vision of a perfect football world
A textbook example of a man's ego becoming so big that he feels indestructible... and he tests that theory every day. Well, the super league proved him wrong and now the dominos are falling. Not that he will ever think he's wrong in any way despite overwhelming evidence... his ego wouldn't allow that.
He's not the first nor the last. Arnold Schwarzenneger was another. Donald Trump. Michel Platini. Sepp Blatter. Etc.

Don't celebrate too soon
But it seems the lobbying power of the likes of Perez and Agnelli are too strong
I think the Super League will eventually happen with a few tweaks
In the meantime, need to get used to being broke and not able to afford half decent players.

Re: Perez' vision of a perfect football world
You’re obviously not a financial analyst. By no way is the club broke or anywhere close to it. Look around the financial structures at other clubs and you’ll see Madrid is much better off than most of them, including your club. Also take a look at the few deals that are happening, whose making those deals and what values are players reaching as compared to before covid conditions. The shortage of capital funding is short term and nothing wrong with operating budget that full stadiums won’t resolve!
For sure the super league will eventually happen either with UEFA or without. as the joint statement said yesterday the aim is to try to satisfy everyone’s interest including fans and that current issues can be discussed and revisions made.

Re: Perez' vision of a perfect football world
Superleague of 3 teams lol.
Politicians in England, France, and Germany will never let it happen. They will enact laws to severely punish any move to this abortion. UEFA doesn't have a legal basis now... but if the lawmakers pass the needed laws, they will. All the political leaders in these countries have stated that, if necessary, they will take legislative measures to stop the move. That's why the clubs backed out (or never joined). Miscalculated the political environment. Besides, the fans in EPL would burn the stadiums down lol.
In what fantasy do you think EPL, Ligue 1, or Bundi teams would ever join... when the later 2 never did AND EPL is now an impossibility?
Good luck with a La Liga/Serie A super league and no media contracts (mega-media will stay away from this PR nightmare).
These *bleep* clubs deserve what they're going to get.

You’re assuming they can’t come up with a changed proposal that will address the concerns. As I said a long time ago, the whole concept was poorly presented and explained. The super league proposed by UEFA is an indication, there is an overall interest to form something different.
I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss the idea.
