Who will Spurs hire as manager after Mourinho
Next Spurs Manager
Mourinho's sacking is just a matter of time, and budget, but he's a dead man walking.
Let's think about candidates to succeed him, and try to continue the upward trajectory that Spurs had under Pochettino
I'm really at a loss who could come. Do you guys think Allegri could be persuaded? Who else is there?
I visited the transfermarkt list of available coaches for a few options
I'm going for Leonardo Jardim

Surely that's out of the question though? Legend of rivals and all?

Upward trajectory? I'm pretty sure they had a downward trajectory, which is why he was sacked. Should've bought some much needed players if they wanted improvement, but that's football.

Re: Next Spurs Manager
As a club, over the whole time, they absolutely did have an upward trajectory.
Pochettino established them in top 4 over several season, the whole position and standing of the club improved. He did his best to sustain the overachievement in relation to the massive lack of investment in the squad that Spurs had compared to the other big PL clubs.

Re: Next Spurs Manager
That's assuming he's the one who made the likes of Harry Kane, Heung Min Son, and even the Mousa Dembeles of Tottenham who they are today. I appreciate Poch's style of football, but I'll probably never be able to relate to you and your fellow German, Pool fan on here in your emphasis on manager power and influence. Managers can potentially get the most out of players, they also greatly dictate how entertaining it is to watch a team, but ultimately, it's players who trump managers both in terms of performance and potential for entertainment value.
I definitely like managers who play free-flowing, offensive football more than the ones who have a more pragmatic and cynical approach to winning matches, but neither is necessarily more effective than the other. It all boils down to the players they have at their disposal. Mourinho may not have caught up with the advancements of football, for all I know, but I also don't think he's had players who fit his boring, park the bus brand, for the longest time now. Tottenham was never a good fit for him, and neither was Man United.

Re: Next Spurs Manager
Tottenham are discussing with Paulo Fonseca on a three-years contract. Fonseca is 100% open to accept Tottenham job, if Spurs will definitely decide to appoint him in the next hours.

He’s so appreciated by Fabio Paratici as candidate. #THFC #Spurs @SkySport @DiMarzio
From Conte to Fonseca
Reminds me of when we went from Allegri to Sarri
Paratici already doing great work at Spurs it seems (:

These Portuguese managers are really well connected. It's amazing how many of them keep failing up to better jobs/leagues.

Re: Next Spurs Manager
He's slept on and will get mocked for his time at Roma, but I do think the PL is a much better match for him. Had originally thought he'd get the Crystal Palace job, but Spurs was not on my bingo card.
I think it's a good appointment honestly. Not being a tactical fit for Serie A doesn't mean he will automatically fail in the PL. Should be interesting to see if Paratici can get him the players he needs.

Re: Next Spurs Manager
Dunno anything about the guy tbh
Once Conte and Poch fell out of the running, Spurs were never going to get a slam dunk. Graham Potter, Eddie Howe, etc is what Spurs were probably going to look at.
I'm not sure why Spurs never talked to Sarri, but I guess at least someone will come in without too many expectations (because no one in England is gonna even know him).

Just what is in this 'DNA' that Levy wants? If its 0 trophies and being the laughing stock of PL, then he's on track
Can't believe he passed up on Conte and went for Fonseca
Absolute loser mentality

Re: Next Spurs Manager
Incredibly harsh stuff on Fonseca both here and all over Spurs Twitter.
I feel bad for him honestly. A good coach that didn't fit in Serie A and the results bore that out.
I tend to sympathize with Arsenal, but I am also a Fonseca stan so this season will be interesting.

Re: Next Spurs Manager
Anyone hitting on Fonseca being hired for Spurs simply hasn't watched his teams or has not followed his career.
He is naive and does not control the locker-room too well but is a visionary as a footballing mind and can have a team play very attractive football.
Who the fuck are Spurs to think they deserve an elite coach? No one.
See it how it goes.

UNREAL
Incredible Tottenham again. There are huge fiscal problems to complete the appointment of Fonseca as new manager despite verbal agreement completed and contract set to be signed, as reported on @SkySport @DiMarzio. #THFC

That’s why Fonseca has NOT signed yet with Spurs. :

Re: Next Spurs Manager
The story I'm reading is that Guttuso was the preferred choice for Paratici before he signed for Fiorentina. Then once he left Fiorentina, Spurs pulled the plug on Fonseca. Fonseca just had to sign the contract.
Seems like a mess.

Re: Next Spurs Manager
Gattuso has improved leaps and bounds over recent years but is NOT the man for Spurs nor can he get them out of this situation.
His english is minimal. Hell his Italian is given he speaks Calabrese more than Italian. Great leader and players love him but really a desperate move.
