Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
first two eps of SILO were indeed promising, I hear good things about the books and the cast looks fantastic

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
I read the silo books when they came out like 10 years ago. I remember liking it a lot and the broad strokes, although not any details any more.
It was self published on Amazon (ie no publisher thought it was good enough to pick up). Wild that it got its own apple show from such humble beginnings.

Love post-apoc stuff so will definitely check it out. Looks very promising.
Hopefully it doesn't get cancelled like jericho which I thought was excellent but ended nowhere.

Justified showrunner/creator is behind it too

The latest Succession episode was really hard to follow and almost chaotic. i think the whole election plotline was a bit heavy-handed.

Killer Ken you could see the respect in Mencken's eyes after that eulogy
Shiv has also been awesome this season, will be interesting to see how Jesse Armstrong and his team decided to end it

Ray Stevenson, a prolific actor who recently portrayed the villain in the Oscar-winning Tollywood hit RRR, died yesterday, his publicist has confirmed to IGN. He was 58. https://t.co/HLsFNOVYB7 pic.twitter.com/73u2JeCZbY

Damn this is really sad. I've enjoyed just about everything I've seen him in. RIP.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
RIP Ray Stevenson.
Rome was insanely good and still holds up really well. I think if it came out a few years later, we could've gotten the five seasons it deserved.
I also loved him in Dexter. One of the few bright spots during the later seasons.

Shiv is gonna get fucked by Matsson, Tom will become the American CEO imo.

- Spoiler:
- i don't see how Shiv loses in this instance though aside from her pride, she and Tom share a baby now and this whole season has shown us they still have love for each other, even if it is in a fucked up passive aggressive kinky way. So i think in that instance they will stay together.
Roman seemed to unravel in the past episode, so it would be weird if he all of a sudden came up tops
i guess narrative progression wise it makes most sense for Ken to win because his arc has shown how he has slowly become Logan 2.0 in his own way, but Armstrong could throw a curveball for shits and giggles since this show is a satire afterall

Is Ozark good? Started it and on episode 3 but it feels like a poor man's Breaking Bad

Yea trust me. Stick with it. Season 1 was it trying hard to be the UK version but since season 2 it starts becoming it own self.
It really is one of the greatest dramedy/sitcom ever.

I mean if you compare to BB 97% of shows will look bleak. But yes it's great and a fun watch

It's legit a good show overall. Scratches that Breaking Bad itch. I would call it an upper middle class man's Breaking Bad.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 5
Watched the first 5 or 6 episodes of both series and prefered Ozark, in fact i had the intention to keep watching but then i got hooked by that lumberjack reality show and forgot everything else might resume Ozark at some point this summer
It's Breaking Bad's scenery that seemed rather low budget, everything is beige and the acting is not very charismatic.

- Succession ending:
- lmao what a bullshit ending... gotta say though i've never seen the sway of the wind illogical indecision of a woman being used as a deus ex machina, which is kinda ingenious
what y'all think of the ending?
