Re: The Bundesliga Thread 20/21
Ah. I should probably start watching them again then. Gotta keep up with Sørloth’s progress. Poulsen must be injured or something. I see he played in a two striker formation next to Emil Forsberg against Mainz ffs
Shame to hear about Hwang. I liked what I saw from him at RB Salzburg.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 20/21
Has Sami ever showcased some type of exceptional skill for the German national team, or during his time at Hertha Berlin? During his time at Real Madrid, the only outstanding ability I saw in him was his ability to keep running when other players were out of steam. That, coupled with his physical qualities, made him a player that Mourinho liked.
He's had a pretty impressive career, considering his relatively limited skill set. Is there something I've overlooked in him?

Who's the guy between the sticks for Dortmund and why is he playing instead of their professional goalkeeper?

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 20/21
Marvin Hitz, their second goalie
I used to think he was actually better than Bürki, but he isn't
still, he might be the new no 1 as Bürki has been terrible
rumours are BVB are trying to get Gulasci from Leipzig who has a reporttedly low release clause in summer

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 20/21
Hitz isn’t even close to Burki. Burki, despite all the criticism he receives, tends to be solid, but has a few blunders here and there. Hitz seems to have massive brainfarts on every rare occasion that he plays. Gulasci isn’t much of an upgrade, in my opinion.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 20/21
Rhine derby
Teams: Cologne and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Born: January 1, 1962 - Cologne won 4-1.
Bundesliga meetings: 85. Gladbach leads the series with 52 wins, 27 losses and 20 draws.
Distance between clubs: 57 kilometres.
This rivalry took a little while to get going but, once lit, it has since burned as hot as any in Germany. While Cologne were cruising to the inaugural Bundesliga title, one of the club’s favorite sons, Hennes Weisweiler, took charge of second-division Gladbach.
The former Cologne player and coach, for whom their famous goat mascot Hennes VIII is named, guided his new club into the Bundesliga, where they experienced great success and built the foundation of what grew into one of Germany’s premier clubs.
Meanwhile, the Billy Goats stagnated and failed to live up to the expectation of dominating the region as the big-city club. By the time player-coach Günter Netzer scored the game-winning goal for Gladbach against Cologne in the 1973 DFB Cup final, the animus between the two sets of fans had become a permanent fixture of any meeting between them.
Today it 's been played and surprisingly Koln won at Monchengladbach for 2-1.

What style of football is he known for? Is he someone who's known for developing youth? Does he have a hot wife?
I suppose I can just google these things.
I know Haaland spent some time under him at Salzburg, but I didn't start watching them regularly until after Jesse Marsch had taken over the job.

Used to tweet/comment football about Pep's Bayern with Rose's assistant coach Rene Maric on the regular years ago. From running spielverlagerung to being Dortmund's assistant coach. What a rise.

It's pretty hilarious.
I had the face of the guy as my avatar on here for a while, as he looks so incomparably silly

Nah this is the funniest football video of all time. The commentary is killing me. The GK just went and took a water break whilst they conceded, no way. pic.twitter.com/AtcFplze3T

Frankfurt's main strike this season has actually been Silva who has been really good, he's out with a minor injury today
That's why Jovic is getting his first start since returning..
