They actually lost against West Ham last season under Mourinho. I don't know why it's being made out to be so much more, this time around. It's not like Maguire and AWB took them from mediocrity to becoming West Ham's worst nightmare I'd be more worried about Rashford's injury and their lack of depth, but clearly part of GL seem to think that coaches not only have the absolute authority to decide whether there's any depth in the squad or not, but that they also prefer not to have it
Rashford's injury tbh is a blessing right now. The lad's going through the worst dip in form in his whole career. Has been absolutely pathetic recently. Will let Martial and Greenwood stake claim to that spot.

Are Greenwood and Martial back, already?

Yea I think so. Greenwood will be okay for Arsenal. Martial is a stretch tho.

Just Rashford, Pogba, (mata?) and Shaw left, then. Matic really needs to stay on the bench. I'm sure he'll whine to the media again, but he's excruciatingly slow. Seems even slower than past his prime, Per Mertesacker at this point. The less said about Ashley Young, the better.

can't recall the last time we looked good. Not even in the Chelsea win. Actually don't recall it at all under Ole.
Crisis. Struggling to get out of our EL group ffs. What are we? English Milan?

Milan got beaten by a semi retired Ribery. I think they are both at the same level tbh.

I wasn't being serious, but on a serious note, I'd definitely take Wan Bissaka out of that mediocre Man United team, if I could. Can't think of any player I'd want from this AC Milan side. Maybe Piatek. Or Pepe Reina

Re: Manchester United Part V / ETH Sack Watch
Daniel Taylor wrote:[...]
What is increasingly clear — and this really is the all-important point — is that the people at the top of the club do not even want to contemplate the possibility that somebody else might be capable of doing a better job.
Everybody knows that Ed Woodward and his colleagues on the United board have no intentions of cutting Solskjaer free, even if Pochettino is now in the market for a new club. It partly explains why Solskjaer was spared a grilling in the post-match interviews and, in a way, there is something to admire about a club that will back their manager this way.
[...]
Overall, though, there was nothing from the crowd to leave the impression that they want the club’s directors to adjust their thinking. And, to put it bluntly, that makes Solskjaer a lucky man.
Outside the ground, there were street hawkers selling the latest edition of the “United We Stand” fanzine, featuring the second of a two-part interview with Woodward, the club’s executive vice-chairman.
One question concerned what it had been like to sack the previous three managers. “Grim,” he replied. “It’s not a pleasant experience and I hope I never have to do it again.”
Privately, all the relevant people have reinforced the same message: that Solskjaer is safe and there is absolutely no point speculating about his future or thinking that position is going to change any time soon.
Sometimes, in football, it is best to treat these briefings with an element of caution. In this case, it seems genuine.

But whats the point of sacking him midseason if they don't have any worthy replacement lined up? Better to keep him until a good option presents itself

He's Portuguese. So likely to have good connections with Mendes.
Good opportunity for Mendes to flog as many overpriced frauds as possible from Liga Sagres to Man United.

Re: Manchester United Part V / ETH Sack Watch
Not sure you can give him much(if any) credit for securing Neymar and Mbappe but the rest of the transfers have mostly been flops.
I wonder how this is going to work out. Money obviously wont be an issue with United but his track record with a team like PSG isnt great either....
