EL FINAL
Re: 2019/20 UEFA Europa League Final: Sevilla - Inter
These champion celebrations are so lame without fans. Celebrating in an empty stadium ffs.
Re: 2019/20 UEFA Europa League Final: Sevilla - Inter
Not playing Sánchez, Erikssen and Candreva from the start was a huge mistake IMHO. Even Moses should have been introduced earlier.
Re: 2019/20 UEFA Europa League Final: Sevilla - Inter
I don't care who the manager is, you are not winning a final with Ashley Young, Victor Moses, and Roberto Galigardini in your squad.

How is the money situation? Are Sevilla hit hard financially by COVID?Jay29 wrote:danyjr wrote:I'm already thinking about how Sevilla will line up next season.
No Banega, no Reguilón. It is not easy replacing these two.
As for their strikers, I know De Jong scored two great goals today but he can't be relied upon. They need a better striker at least Bacca level.
No point trying to guess. A dozen players will leave and a dozen will arrive. It's the Monchi way.
Kounde, Carlos, Navas, Jordan, and Suso are only the first team players that'll stay. Everyone else could change.
Re: 2019/20 UEFA Europa League Final: Sevilla - Inter
Who is this *bleep* commentator on BT Sports who keeps saying Diego Carlos deserved a red card? he is so hung up on it
stfu double penalty in football is a joke. Lukaku got the PK, diego carlos did not deserve a red you dunce

Probably. They had 20m lying around to make Suso permanent but I can't imagine they'll have much to spend without sales.

Alexis was injured. Candreva and Moses are bench players. Erikssen is the big one, that situation needs to be fixed asap.

I'm amazed at how Sevilla always manages to create winning teams out of a bunch of misfits and has-beens. Washed up City bench warmer Fernando and old Banega in midfield? 70-year-old Navas at right-back? Inconsistent and occasional headless chicken Ocampos as your main offensive weapon? De Jong, whoever the fuck that is? Fucking Suso? that sounds like a relegation team on paper.

I am so happy for Lopetegui. He's been through alot. Got sacked for signing with RM then got sacked after Varane played like a Sunday league player every game. And now a total redemption. Well done!!

Anyways hope Inter win a title soon, but never stood a chance against Sevilla in the EL. Hopefully they can break the Juve streak this year.

what a pic
reminds me of when my mate and I sat in the car once with a box of donner in between reminiscing of high school and how our geography teacher was possibly a paedophile
same vibes

Exactly.

How a team of rejects continues to win the EL against 'better' teams is something else. I guess this is what Mourinho calls Football Heritage.

The three-peat between 2014 and 2016 weren't against "better" teams, really. Benfica were a decent side in 2014 but they're cursed. Dnipro Dniprotrovsk in 2015 - who the hell are they?

Sevilla's team was decent during that period as well. Krychowiak, N'Zonzi, Banega, Reyes, Vitolo, Bacca, Gameiro, Rakitic, Fazio. Lots of these guys went on to bigger clubs for big money even if they weren't successful there.
Even this Sevilla team is okay when you look beyond the forward line. Navas is a better right back than anyone United or Inter have. Kounde and Reguilon are exciting talents. Fernando is a better player than his time at City suggested. Banega is great. Age matters so much less these days than it used to because everyone is still super fit.
I can't deny luck played a significant part, too. That's the joy of one-off games. I'm not so sure Sevilla get past United over two-legs.
This is one of the few times I can say experience really counted, too. Navas and Banega were two time winners. They had their best performances when it mattered and lead the team through the tough moments. United and Inter didn't have this.

You forgot to mention, that of course this cup had nothing to do with Lopetequi!

Frankly terrible to accept it. I hope Serie A starts as late as possible because I don't want to care football for a month at least. Weird even writing today.
Anyway put also a thump up on my post if you club will play next year the amazing cup, the Uefa Champions League, and not the lowest, the Europa League.
