The Premier League confirms that it has today terminated its agreements for #PL coverage in China with its licensee in that territory.

Re: 2020/21 Premier League Discussion
It is understood the reasons for the termination are financial rather than political.
BBC Sport has been told streaming service PPTV withheld its latest payment of £160m, due in March.
PPTV is owned by Suning Holdings, the Chinese group which also has a controlling stake in Serie A side Inter Milan.
So that's how Inter's rebuild has been funded

There are signs that Suning Holdings is in trouble. It’s in arrears of £160m on its @premierleague rights deal and now players at Jiangsu Suning are rumoured to be on strike over unpaid wages, says @wildeastfootball. What does this all mean for @inter? #inter

Seems like Inter could be in trouble as well. Maybe partly explains their latest free transfer signings.

Suning didn't pay their £160m payment in March, though, that's before economies were badly hit.
Wasn't there some speculation before they bought Inter that nobody knew how much money this Suning company had and where it came from?

Lmao you are getting confused with the old AC Milan property before Elliott ( Li Yonghong , Chinese indeed )
conversely Suning are a solid and serious group, internationally recognized.
The fracture Suning - Premier League has deeper roots that can't be banalized tbh.
International relationship between UK and China are to a minimum, UK governement banned Huawei (the biggest Chinese company ) and other Chinese company.
This has an impact on other relations, because Suning is linked to Chinese government -that forced to terminate the contract presumably

Phil Foden + Mason Greenwood will not travel with rest of England squad from Iceland to Denmark this afternoon after breaking bubble in Reykjavik with girls. Gareth Southgate to confirm shortly.

had posted the same in the "Liverpool going into administration" thread from Herr Hans. A better version of the same is also available here -->

Anyways, one of the important section from the post:
However, here’s the thing. Much of the revenue growth has been eaten up by higher costs. In fact. Since 2015 #LFC wages have grown 87% (£144m), i.e. at a faster rate than revenue 79% (£235m), the highest in the Big 6, due to recruiting better players and higher bonus payments.
One main takeaway for me was: FSG has historically chosen not to raise extra debt (loan on interest) or inject equity (loan without interest) where as all other clubs in top 6 (probably apart from ManUtd) operate through a model of invest through equity or debt.
So that is main reason that it is simply a strategic decision for FSG not to spend too much this season. In fact we are pretty well positioned to spend on someone like Werner or Havertz, it is just a matter of prerogative of FSG "choosing not to do so"

There's something wrong at Liverpool. They're not even capable of coughing up 30m for the world's best midfielder it seems.
They haven't reinforced the team meaningfully in over 2 years.
Absolutely no way they defend the title.
Let's get predictions in
