On the point of players seemingly to be too relaxed under Valverde doesnt sound to be wrong though? His style and having been with the group for a few years, if u dont retain their hunger or are able to keep them on their toes, players get lazy and under Setien they have looked hungrier at least at far?

It is utterly insane to me how much Barça bend their back over and cuck out to make "Messi happy" whereas it just seems to backfire given Messi is not the unaware schoolboy type he was in his earlier days.

Plus he is 33 in June so is it really that worth it to build around a man who is not quite the same? (even if he has aged his game tremendously).

He has too much power in what is one of the worlds biggest clubs. SAF would never take his shit for a second.

Messi leaving will not solve their issues

There are far more players that need to be let go of before even contemplating letting Messi leave. But Barca have really shot themselves on their feet by giving Messi all these raises. At some point enough is enough.

On the otherhand SAF never has managed anyone close to what Messi is in pull and presence so that is a hypothetical that was thrown out by me. Would be interesting to see a coach finally begin not to take his shit but I doubt he would last on his job.
