Karim Benzema - BIG Ballon d'Or 2022 campaign

No argument there. He has been stellar.

He looks very tired though, I would rest him Vs Osasuna, otherwise he won't be at 100% vs City.

At this point I want us to win the CL more so that Benz gets the Balon D or than for any other reason. This man deserves it.

We Messi fans support Benzema. I wish he wins it. Classy player and scored in biggest matches in biggest competition. His season is way better than Lewandowski's last season

yea i know, but i personally feel this season he is literally hitting peak height of this run of form. The way he is moving, his touches, his timing, his finishes... everything - pristine.

His finishing has been better than any season I remember. He scores with everything he's got, right foot, left foot, headers, unbalanced. You give him an inch and he'll punish you. His conversion rate must be through the roof and he scores consistently out of half chances too.

For some reason he also looks better on the ball than ever. He was never a slouch on the ball but recently I don't see him lose the ball or make a bad pass.

A point I'd like to make...  Benzema has played at this level for 3+ years now.  The reason his output is up this season and he "looks" more efficient is that he has an effective Vinicius playing next to him.  Defenses can't 100% just focus on him anymore.  The previous seasons...  he had literally nobody.  Think about it.  Here were his attacking partners the past 3 years.

Vini (shit version) and Lucas Vasquez mostly (Bale and Hazard never played)
Vini (still shit version) and Lucas Vasquez/Rodrygo/Asensio rotation
Vini (good version) and Asensio/Rodrygo

His backups at CF are Mariano and Jovic ffs.

Fullbacks?  The man formerly known as Carvajal, Mendy, Nacho and random Castilla guys.  Offensive help from FBs? I don't think so.

Tell me where has he been getting help?  From nowhere, until this season with Vini.

All you need to do is look at how Vini and Madrid look when Benzema is out... we play like a Sunday team when he's out these days.

Definitely having his career best season, and to get double would be an easy Ballon d'Or after the timing change. That's the fourth Ballon d'Or winner playing in Real the last decade, and just goes to show how much better supporting cast Cronaldo had in Real, than what Messi had in Barcelona.
