Re: What Next for Barça?
Historic low for us, but it was inevitable things were going, it was a slow decline in the end, and hopefully this is the rock bottom, and we can begin our rebuild. Largely will depending on what happens with the club managerment though obviously.
I really think to be effective we would need a strong new manager who will ring serious changes, including a clear out of players that are clearly redundant.

Re: What Next for Barça?
Xavi makes sense in such circumstances. He is basically in the same situation Lampard was last year. A club that can't sign any players and has to primarily rely on the academy. And who else is better than Xavi to do that. He knows the club and his ideas resonate with La Masia graduates.Myesyats wrote:some news

Just hope people don't expect him to do a Guardiola, because he won't access to what Pep did back in 2008.

A more urgent matter would be the board in my opinion. Bart has to go.

Re: What Next for Barça?
Xavi won't come in until this board is gone they want a Yes-man type of manager and Xavi stated he wants more control. Also I'm sure he wants to wait it out till some of his buddies retire so he doesn't have to be the one to let them go, so I think in 2-3 years from now will get him depending on what our next manager does that is.

Re: What Next for Barça?
The damage done is irreversible. Literally all but 2 or 3 players are about to retire (Pique, Busquets, Suarez, Messi, Alba, Rakitic, Vidal) or have no future at the club because they are not good enough (Sergi Roberto, Coutinho, Griezmann, Démbéle, Semedo).
Like, who does even stay for the future? Ter Stegen, Lenglet, De Jong? Complete madness.

Re: What Next for Barça?
According to Bart, the only players that he is not willing to sell are "Leo Messi, Ter Stegen, Lenglet, Semedo, De Jong y Griezmann"

Re: What Next for Barça?
I dont believe anything he says, but interesting that he mentioned Dembele. Dembele must be showing signs of real promise given his constant problems and high value, but still to be named, so Im hopeful to see Dembele to shine next season...

Publicly proclaiming a list of players from the squad that are not wanted anymore is such a brilliant thing to do for a football club president

Hopefully it will take 5+ years to see Barcelona doing descent in Liga/CL now. Low phase of Barcelona.

Re: What Next for Barça?
Well... time to prepare for a Messi-less future, and without the funds of a Messi sale.
Based off the latest rumors it looks like next year we'll play
MATS
Semedo-Lenglet-Pique-Alba
Pjanic-De Jong-Coutinho
Fati-Griezmann-Dembele
Quite a few weak positions there, reinforcing the wingers and FBs seems like a priority.

Re: What Next for Barça?
I think Francisco Trincao will play at RW, he's much better than Fati
Maybe we'll sign a striker too, there's still over a month till the market closes.

Re: What Next for Barça?
Millions will be released on wages due to the likes of Busquets, Messi and Suárez leaving. Add Rakitić to the equation too while we're at it.
If Barça are smart they can make this work long term. Sadly, this board is anything but smart.

Busquets is allegedly staying, albeit for a bench role
