Re: MMA/UFC Thread
Ngannou is rather overrated given he is based around his one-hit power so is the Deontay Wilder of MMA but if he hits you most likely you will drop and be out cold.
Definitely heard the sound of his punch and it was rather sickening.
Makes you appreciate Stipe more for how he totally handled and outwitted Ngannou, let alone dominated.

Stipe was legit the only one who wouldn’t be lights out from that one punch Ngannou hit him with.
I don’t think Stipe’s chin can withstand another punch like that tbh. Ngannou is the future. Never seen a stronger puncher in my life.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
Relative to MMA I agree.
Glad to see Cruz back and sincerely hope he ends Cejudo who is a constant cringefest whether it is part of the act or not.
Hope ring rust is not prevalent for Cruz who is amongst the smartest fighters in the game.

Cruz taking a lot of energy with his footwork alone yet when he attacks Cejudo aims to grapple and clearly its tricky for the former.

The commentating team is so biased towards Cruz due him being part of their team

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
Questionable stoppage and one of course backed up by Rogan & Co. but this fight reminds me of Cruz's last fight and that was his loss against Garbrandt. Where he is so built on his unique style of footwork he almost buys into his own hype so much and let's the fight fly by without actually doing much.
Cruz is a proven winner but really nothing was done here today bar fancy footwork and being dominated by the most annoying fighter in the organization.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
& Cejudo announces his retirement in an arena without a crowd.
Annoying as he is clearly he had a lot more in the tank so disappointing to see him go out. Beat the greats in his three of his last four in Cruz, Mighty Mouse and Dillashaw.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
And now for the main event.
I see a easier win for Tony than most thing.
JG is a superb fighter but truth is people are carried away by his violent finishes and aggressive nature and against top opposition he has not been the best. Poirier and Alvarez the best example.
Ferguson is a cut above and should finish this fight the victor, especially given how well prepared (and conditioned) he is.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
JG is fun as a fighter because he’s probably the second best wrestler in the division. But he just wants to bleed.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
What a round.
Definitely rate JG above there who has the cleaner and more accurate shots.
Then again Tony will look to adapt as he usually does first round so should see an improvement.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
Ferguson is just not normal the way he takes shots like that and barely reacts, facially speaking.
If JG can keep his gas tank beyond this the fight is his since we know Tony will go full five rounds without slowing down.

Not smart by JG swinging too hard given he is losing energy fast by this point whilst Tony's cardio is basically the best in UFC.

Huge cut for Tony yet he just keeps gaining on JG despite the damage on his face clearly indicating him to stop.

As it stands JG wins the fight but the tide will turn based on the cardio and energy expenditure difference. If not definitely for the former.
