'Zoo Eyes' for example reminds me very much of late 60s baroque psychedelic folk, also because of the mellotron keys.

I think she is really interesting and has an astonishingly intense presence, on top of an amazing voice.

I honestly don't get her hype.

She can't even sing, she stays monotone and then goes a few slight pitches up every now and then. A rip off of Lana Del Rey's somber sound, and probably only popular because of her IDGAF attitude.

was talking to someone about music from when I was really young that was massive, blast from the past

was listening to a lot of Daft Punk stuff from the early 2000s

found out this absolute tune is considered one of the all time great dance songs and it was produced by one half of daft punk which I never knew. It was really popular in the UK, dunno about the rest of the world/Europe. Doubt it was known in the US.

still insanely catchy

Daft Punk were/are insanely popular but I remember being engrossed in these anime music videos they released in the early 2000s

Look better than most anime today tbh

I don't remember the details, but I watched a documentary about her, and she has been in the public eye for quite a while. She appeared in a singing/talent contest when she was in her mid-teens and immediately became a fan favorite, as she stuck out from the rest of the competitors in a good way. I'm not particularly interested in her work, but she seems like a very good singer, from what I can tell. Don't care much for her "edgy" style or "IDGAF attitude" as you referred to it. From my experience, people who act like that, tend to either be assholes, or suffer from depression.
