We have lost form at the worst time
Maybe if Zidane didn't change the team every single game we could've continued our form from the Super Copa alas we see new faces in the team every game

My God. His in game management is atrocious
It's also his coaching. It's really, really, REALLY not particularly good. It doesn't help that he has that French coach blind loyalty thing going that refuses to notice that the lads that really went to bat for him can no longer pick up said bat. In Modric's case, can't even run to get the bat to pick it up.

Re: UCL Ro16: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Zidane was trying to change things up to see what would work best with Hazard back in the attack... namely, attack more. That failed. We created 1000 chances but our strikers wet the bed.
Now that Hazard is gone again, we need to get back into that uber-defensive mindset.
Should he have not changed the uber-defensive mindset even with Hazard coming back? Maybe. That's a valid criticism. But I don't think ZZ thought our finishing would be that awful.
In regards to this game, the was Ramos having a poor game defensively (and getting a red)... and Carvajal not playing well yet again. The solution is to just pack the box and protect everyone imo. We're not going to outscore anyone.

Btw, Juve losing to Lyon at home 1-0 is a far bigger scandal than Madrid losing at Man City 2-1.
Liverpool and PSG didn't do great either.
Honestly, other than Bayern, all the ties are open for the taking.

Juventus didn't lose to Lyon at home, they lost to them away at Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
It's still a negative result though, but it's nothing that they can't reverse in the return leg.
Can't say the same about us unfortunately. I really can't see us beating them in Manchester.

It is but I'm not a Jjuve fan so seeing Madrid lose is way more pressing. As for strikers, heard Zidane gave the go ahead to purchase a young man from Germany. Haven't seen him for a while though.

Do you really think Zidane gave the go-ahead to buy Jovic? That was in the works when Lope was still in charge. I think that the report was questionable.
Jovic is a head case.
Our issue isn't CF anyhow even with Benzema droping form recently.... it's the wing. Both wings. Couldn't predict Hazard and Asensio being gone for most of the season... but right wing was a predictable problem. And Bale/James being useless were also predictable outcomes.
Having kids in diapers as backups was also a very predictable fail.

Re: UCL Ro16: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Of course I think so, Jovic legit said Zidane wanted him. Zidane got Mendy, got to keep Valverde, got rid of Ceballos and two fan favourites in Regi and Llorente. Yeah, Zidane definitely gave the go ahead for Jovic.
Doesn't use him at all even when Benzema is doing oodles of shit. So yeah, that's on Zidane. What I would never blame Zidane for (or any coach for that matter) is Ramos, Dani being a pretty bad FB and Bale. Among other things. Those are beyond his control. Way beyond.

Re: UCL Ro16: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Even a shit city like this created numerous chances against us.
While we were unable to create enough one on one like they did. Our best chances came on counters.
Zidane asking for the sack this April.
A CL knock out and Barca win in classico would be the final nail.

Re: UCL Ro16: Real Madrid vs Manchester City
It's last season all over again. losing everything in 2-3 weeks. and a player who can't shoot or pass or cross aka Vinicius carrying our attack lol.
We are weak in the final third. we don't have that cutting edge.
and in defence we make very bad mistakes. both goals were mistakes from our defenders. especially Carvajal. he is out of form.
All i want is a victory in Clasico and grinding the results in Liga so we can win the league. forget about CL. with Hazard injured and Bale and Benzema completely out of shape we have no hope in CL. we have no attack.

Did you really expect to outscore City with Junior Vinicius and Benzema?
You weren't that bad in the middle and defense but in attack you lack personnel. I don't think Zidane is the biggest problem you have

It’s the personnel Zidane chooses. Jovic is a good player, but how the fuck is he supposed to even get consistency when an aging benzema undeservedly starts ahead of him.
At this point we need to learn how to play with 2 Strikers. because we can’t score for shit, and our attack is stagnant. That’s another idea in contrast to the above, but zizou doesn’t put them on for long enough.
otherwise the team needs to trust jovic and feed him over and over again.. give him the ball in dangerous positions in the box and trust him. He is known for his goalscoring prowness.. so give him a shot
In a way, our players became spoiled playing with benz since he is a selfless striker, and he will play the one-two and feed them before scoring, and that wouldn’t be a problem except none of them can score, besides maybe rodrygo who is a kid.
Also, we have zero creativity. Our players are sound technically and on the ball but can’t thread through balls and clear cut opportunities besides hazard and james.

Tbh from what i've seen of Jovic he is nothing special. You need Mbappe urgently up front. Not to mention Modric and Kroos becoming useless and Marcelo, Ramos, Carvajal declining. This transition phase is painful for both Barca and RM
