With the decade wrapping up who goes into your best 11 of the decade?

Alves Pique Ramos Marcelo
Xavi Modric Iniesta
Messi Cristiano Neymar

Quality of peak and length of peak both factors. Suarez and Kroos just barely missed out for me. Who do you guys have?

I can see this getting rather stale as I tend to agree with OP's team if we're looking at the overall decade, so I am going to go for a team based on their peak instead of longevity.

I think its tough because half of these players were amazing for the first half, the rest average for the other half. So it depends on which perspective you look at with, you can go for personal opinion on quality, longetivity of form or trophies.

I go with trophies since its my logic on how one can establish the impact of their quality in history.

Madrid has 4 UCLs and Spain has one World Cup so this has to be Spanish league based af

Ronaldo Suarez Messi

Suarez since he's won 2 golden boot, one with a shitty team. Arguable here.

Neuer because Casillas faded out and Navas even though he won 3 CL's, he's not the best I've seen.

Pique because Spain won one WC, Barca won one CL and they were on top for a long time. Again arguable but less so than Suarez

Alves because I really couldn't think of anyone at RB who has made an impact of more than one season.

Edit: Personal bias since I fucking hate Real Madrid but I couldn't put more Madrid players in that team even though they are the most deserving.

I hesitated between Pirlo and Yaya Toure. Lahm was the best RB in the world and also one of the best DMs under Pep. Marcelo, Silva, and Alves are automatically disqualified after the atrocious showing in WC 2014 and other NT fails.

Other than Ramos, my other defenders are actually great defenders. The midfield is comprised of all-time greats. So is the attack.

Modric - Busquets - Iniesta
Robben - Messi - CR

Xavi has played for 2 years this decade same with pirlo who starting with 13/14 was clearly too slow. Modric is the most consistent and high performing central midfielder of the decade and along with Ramos Messi Marcelo and Cristiano (and probably Iniesta) no brainers in such a debate

Kompany could be debatable but from my pov one of the most underrated defenders and captains of this generation. wonderful footballer and personality

you also need a DM for 2010s’ trademark 433 formation, that’s between Busquets and Casemiro and the former edges it for me

Robben is the 3rd best attacking player of the decade imo and one of the best wingers of all time, I would take him ahead of Suarez, Neymar, Hazard or Ibrahimovic
