Mustafi has played well. Literally at the right place every time Chelsea get close to Arsenal's box.

Chelsea out of ideas to create clear-cut chances, and too scared to take risks.
How can you play at home with a man up and 1-0 up and not manage to finish the match off.

Yeah but it's not good enough to play well yet have one complete blackout gifting the opposition a straight goal in literally 2 out of 3 games

Re: 2019/2020 Premier League Discussion: Chapter III
Thimmy wrote:I don’t watch City consistently, but from what I can tell, their recent failures has more to do with their relatively weak defense being particularly exposed in Laporte’s absence, as well as certain players not quite performing up to their usual standards. City have had their time in the spotlight, can’t blame the players for no longer being as motivated to fight for the league title as they used to.
Over the past 6 years, they’ve won it 3 times, and two of those were in the last two seasons. They have the most talent-wise stacked team in England, which makes it difficult to determine exactly what level of decisive impact Pep has had on the team, but I really can’t rationalize him being the reason why they’re going through a slump at the moment.
They're attack is doing well from Aguero, Sterling Mahrez and KdB and to an extent Jesus only B. Silva has been up to his best. Yes their defences has been bad but Pep defences generally haven't been the best around hes had some competent players there but usually he set up making it difficult for oppositions have a go at them.
Large part of his team vulnerability has come from midfield I read from a City fan a lot of their dropped points came when D. Silva and Gundo were in midfield who simply cannot cover the ground as well leaving the midfield vulnerable which has been a bigger issue add Rodri into the mix who in his time was use to playing in double pivots and or with a CM by his side to playing largely with two 10. So yes I do believe a large gap is on Pep.

Wow
Pépé
that's what you call creative chaos I guess
can't say it's not intriguing, his bizarrely chaotic and weirdly loose way of dribbling

I don't think Arsenal can keep this Martinelli chap for a long time. I can see big teams starting to knock on the door in a couple of seasons.

Don't you agree?
Doesn't he have an intriguingly weird way of dribbling?

Was this ever confirmed or media gossip? I know he wanted Aguero to press and contribute more in build up and due to his injury record was a bit more careful with him and people have made up he wanted to get rid of him. I'm sure if he wanted to he would've.
Well, Pep decisively benched him in his first season but then had to walk it back as Jesus got seriously injured.
I will say if Jesus had not gotten injured, Pep would have humiliated Aguero to the point that he might very well have left right after that season
Still feel people are reading too much into that. Aguero was averaging a goal ever 11 shots that season from a stat I remember seeing well Jesus in his first 4 starts had 4 goals and 2 assists or something before he got injured. At the end Aguero did exactly what Pep wanted him he started pressing and contributing to the teams build up play, I remember BC saying hes never seen Aguero press as much as he has under Pep.

Re: 2019/2020 Premier League Discussion: Chapter III
How have 10 man Arsenal not got tired is a mystery to me. Surely Lampard failed to use the 1 man advantage he had for the majority of the match. It never looked like 11 vs 10.

Of course not.
Because none of the managers of City before implemented pressing like Pep. If you want to play for Pep, obviously you need to press.
@Thimmy every Pep team is unmistakenly a Pep team, and so is this City. The fact they win back to back titles with two times record points is typical Pep. The fact they tend to fuck it up in decisive CL away games because of some activist chickenshit lineup nonsense, instead of sticking to his strenghts, is typical Pep.
