How long will Mikel Arteta be Arsenal‘s manager?
Re: Mikel Arteta Sack Watch
Just god awful, he's actually made the club worse during his tenure
The club will take years to recover from his mess

For real, I don't think this squad would develop any better under his tenure.

Re: Mikel Arteta Sack Watch
It's incredible he wasn't sacked in the summer. As I said earlier in the thread, it was obvious he needed to go, but there wasn't any huge need to sack him before summer as they weren't playing for anything. Keeping him though
incredible

Re: Mikel Arteta Sack Watch
It was expected of Arteta to reach at least 5th after the transfer window they had.
They are also lucky they played all their tough matches early during the season. They have practically lost every big match they have had (lost to Chelsea, City and United).
What they have been very good at is killing minnows which other big teams may have struggled to do so. Also Spurs and Leicester have had a poor season, which means other teams like Arsenal and West Ham have been able to climb up the table.
Also they don't have a mid-week match in EL/CL, so the squad is more fresh than other teams.
Arteta will certainly get sacked if Arsenal don't reach EL. They have spent more money than City, as well as other teams this season.

So whats been the key for those that follow them? Its not like they had major player changes that turned around their run?

I mean, if Tottenham were to win their 3 games in hand on Arsenal, or even win 2 draw one, they'd go above Arsenal. Manchester United, likewise, could easily go above Arsenal.
Now, it's unlikely that Tottenham and Man U win all their games in hand, I'm just saying that calling Arsenal 4th in the table is only correct because they've played more matches than everyone else challenging for the fourth spot

nothing much... our young attacking talent in Emile Smith Rowe, Martinelli and Saka carrying us.
everyone else around us are shit, so we might stand a chance.

I don't mean to big up Ødegaard, but you don't seem to be much of a fan of his judging by how you tend to discuss him
He's had fitness and form issues that started during his loan spell at Arsenal, but I'm pretty sure he's been decisive in your last few matches, and whether or not it was a coincidence, the level of your team was elevated during his loan spell. You were pretty shit before that transfer window. I haven't watched Arsenal's matches consistently, but it seems incredibly harsh to describe him as shit. I don't know how you can come to that conclusion. Is it because ESR deserves the AM spot ahead of him?

Re: Mikel Arteta Sack Watch
where did i say Odegaard is shit? i said everyone else around us (Arsenal) as in Man Utd, Spurs and West Ham are shit.
not really lol. We still had mixed results when he started playing for us 2nd half of last season. Yes, he added a different dimension to our game whenever he had a good game, but it seems you are overstating his impact on our team a bit. I like him, but he needs to be more consistent.the level of your team was elevated during his loan spell.

My bad, it was late at night and I misinterpreted that comment as you suggesting that everyone on the team except for ESR, Martinelli and Saka being shit. I feel like I've become accustomed to reading that type of hyperbole on here, so I kind of expect it

Smith-Rowe, Ramsdale, and Tomyasu have been the biggest difference Ive seen in Arsenal this season Id say. Tho having Odegaard there already helps the club enough already

Re: Mikel Arteta Sack Watch
it's more so having a settled back four that complement each other and a goalie behind them that inspires confidence than Tomiyasu himself. But yea he is definitely an upgrade on Bellerin
i still have my doubts on White though, hopefully Saliba comes into the mix by next season as another CB option

Re: Mikel Arteta Sack Watch
so how much is he to be praised for Arsenal looking real healthy in regards to CL qualification? you can say a lot about United and Spurs being shit, but their current run is thoroughly impressive to me, I have barely watched them so I'm genuinely curious. I was sure they would collapse after not investing in January
I imagine there's been a huge turnaround in how Arsenal fans view him

Re: Mikel Arteta Sack Watch
Seems to me like he was implementing his system with shitty players which impacted results. Now that he has better players more suited to it even if they aren’t the most glamorous names Arsenal is performing better.

Same impression as mine. I genuinely think Arsenal have been the most entertaining Prem team to watch this year, and it’s largely due to how Arteta has made the team play.
