What a performance from Atalanta. Went ahead and just finished the tie off in the first leg.

Valencia are good, but I don't think they will score 4 goals at the Mestalla without Atalanta adding to the aggregate.

So one thing that really stuck out to me with Atalanta's performance is how angry they were at the end of that match. Gasp took off a CB and put on a striker to get more goals.....at 4-1. That alone is such a great mentality, but the players being angry with not getting more goals at the end is just something that makes me really jealous.

That is the type of mentality that I want to see in Roma's players, who are just going through the motions.

Honestly how can't you appreciate Atalanta ?
I hate Gasperini as person but well he is doing something amazing
Atalanta is one of those things that make beautiful the Italian football
They are getting results through job and game, they don't play negative football but they are so beautiful to watch them

Moreover not just gamestyle, but they have talented footballers, also "hipster " footballers , I mean they 're so attractive to watch even for a neutral

They have a very appassionate fanbase, a warm tifo, Bergamo city is in total symbiosis with the club

Less Sassuolo, more Atalanta.

Totally agree. Everything about their project is fun to watch. One of my best stadium experiences still is bvb-atalanta in the Atalanta section in EL. Super happy crowd watching top football.

Gasperini is what I find interesting about Atalanta as it is and not one of his players outside of maybe Ilicic.

Why? We know the case with his Atalanta. A collective team of suitors who look better than what they are (or maybe his system brings the best out of them?) and weave together into a textile that overcomes their weaknesses and lays a vector to exploit their strengths. That is what is so dangerous about them, their almost hivemind mentality. To which oddly enough even works against them when things go wrong.

We've known what is the case with players like Gagliardini, Zapata, Kessie (FUCKING Kessie), if not lower fringe players who have fooled clubs and not replicated what they were, in Atalanta.

So it is a bright sign for football itself that such teams can be made as last time we had this in Serie A per say was by the hand of Guidolin.

Typically of Gasperini he was arrogant as ever speaking to Tuttosport post game:"Our game vs Valencia as akin to The War of Spanish Succession in which their city was at their Nadir for over 16 years in domination by the English and we summed it up within 90 mins."

Mestalla is an intimidating atmosphere and the club are always great at stirring an aura for any possible comeback and it will be a new situation for Atalanta if their not their biggest ever.

4-1 yes but we've seen bigger comebacks and by worse teams against bigger clubs.

hmm after reading this i would say they are lot more serious than lazio fiorentina or other clubs like udinese who had been in CL

they actually legit has caused havoc, even against mancity

Atalanta are a club who've played rarely in Europe in their story but when they do it , they get great results
in 1988 they reached the Cup Winners' Cup semifinal but lost against Malines ( then winner), in 1991 Uefa Cup quarter final but lost against Inter ( then winner ), so... who'll get knocked out Atalanta it is going to win the trophy hmm
