This was all Arteta and Arsenal tbh

Arteta man marked City players which didn't allow them to play out from the back and forced City players to drop deep to collect ball, as well as keep constant pressure on them. Mustafi and Luiz as much as it is hard to hear this had WC performance snuff out every attack and got the blocks in at the right moment, City didn't adapt to this and got them frustrated all night, as the commentator said they could be there all night, but probably wouldn't have gotten through Arsenal.

Silva and Sterling had good chances in the 2nd half that they'd bury on another day.

First half Arsenal man marked City's midfield and funelled their play to the right flank, confident they could win their duels in the penalty area.

Second half was harder as City threw off Arsenal's man marking by playing KDB and Silva wider and Sterling deeper. But Arsenal continued to protect the centre very well.

Xhaka and Luiz were immense. They thrive in these types of set-ups.

Arsenal showed a lot more in arrack this time which was very pleasing as well.

Was wondering about this, since I havent watched a lot of Man C's matches this season, but from what I can tell, Rodri is a flop and just nothing special. Pep mistake again, and there are so many of them when he trusts players who are just not good enough I guess. But since hes got such a stacked squad, he shouldnt. I mean, he moved players positions around in order to accomodate Rodri, why?

Lots of rework to do for Pep for next season.

Meh. Just FA cup. Absolutely looking knackered after having played a game like 2 days before. Got bigger priorities. It was right for Ole to rest key players. Wasnt expecting anything from the likes of James and company anyway. Any slender chance we had ofc was thwarted by De gea gifting goals left right and center. So yea move on. In a way its good thing we lost today. Players wont take the must win West ham game lightly. Just hope Bailly is ok.

Sucks that we lost, but we beat them 3 times this season, a 4th time at this stage of the season when matches are coming thick and fast and fatigue is a factor was asking a lot from our team. Doesn't help by the fact OJS is unwilling to rotate due to him not trusting our fringe players... Ah well. I can see why though- Dan James, Fred and the likes of Lingard and Perierra cause a massive drop in quality whenever they start/subbed on.

Means he's played players badly in need of rest and we still lost. And what were the FA playing at allowing Chelsea to play on Tuesday and have us play on Thursday, smh. How is that even fair? It showed with how intense Chelsea were able to press us. They looked significantly fresher than us.

All in all, we still have top 4 in our sights. Gotta do what it takes to beat WH now. Huge game!
