Also when you look at haaland you know he's Norwegian. Only 2 people I know who you can just look at and say that guy is Norwegian. The first one is Norway nick the Madrid fan and this guy.

I knew more of Haaland than Ødegaard than Haaland (latter I took notice when he came to La Real) and along with me I do not think anyone can say that Haaland screamed talent because at most we've noticed him due to his goals and not the other thing he does, even if albeit impressive.

Both are bound to end up having very good careers even if Ødegaard's trajectory is far more delicate and nuanced.

About time Scandinavia gets a player who can match up to Ibra.

I think Ibra is in a league of his own, in terms of pure entertainment and commercial value. He has such a creative and unique side to the way he plays, and I've always been impressed by how technically skillful he is - especially, for someone of his height. Haaland has a similar, yet contrasting quality in being olympic-level fast and being mobile over shorter distances, as well as having quick reflexes, despite his size. He's not a flair and trickery- type of player, but more of a well-rounded one who does the basics better than most.

I do enjoy watching him use brute force to bulldoze his way past his markers. I've never seen anyone else do that on a relatively consistent basis, quite the way he does it. But again, that's a very basic quality that he excels at. He has his own, quirky running style and general style of play that's quite unique to him, but he doesn't strike me as an entertainer or someone who distinguishes himself with a unique set of skills. He might one day reach a similar level of professional accomplishment as Ibra, for all I know, but in terms of cult status and commercial swagger, I don't know if there will ever be another, Scandinavian footballer quite like Zlatan. That combination of ability and charm don't come around very often

Halaand might not be a very skilful player but I'd rather have someone who nails a 100% of the most important thing at a world class level than a player who just does so many things averagely or just at an above average level.

What I'm most impressed by is that the things halaand does are things that can't be thought by anybody, they're mainly instinctive. BTW I've seen halaand score harder goals with a stronger set of skillset than the supposed more skillful players his age tbh.

Halaand is like a less skillful Cristiano in his prime.. You were always a goal up starting with them and he's just 19.
All He has to do now is work on whatever it is that needs improvement in his game.

My prediction is that halaand ends up as a more generational player than anybody his age range.. This I just my prediction.

well thats why he is ugly. his mother was a local lass and looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp.

No on that you are right Thimmy as there is no comparison on the topic of pure raw skill let alone creativity but by that I meant the general Nordic countries have lacked a superstar in the making for a long time.


On that note I am hoping Haaland remains in Dortmund if his development is valued because we know the risk of such young nascent talents making the jump to a top club, all too soon.

Hope he smashes Paris in the second leg.

2 goals and an assist today. All high-class performances. Can’t find extended highlights anywhere, yet. I was particularly impressed with how he caught up to, and out-ran an Ireland player who was 5-6 meters ahead of him, before he provided the assist.

Being serious though, i had this conversation with the madrid boys in our section. Mbappe is a long term objective of the club, but his signing would meas the end of one of our kids. Mbappe is not a target number 9 so imo, if you sign him, you still need a number 9.

If we dont go after both we are daft.

Haaland is amazing and I am very sure if we showed interest he would prioritise us over the EPL clubs/Bayern/PSG. Most kids in the Scandinavian countries grow up supporting Barca/Madrid so Perez should do his thing.

Haaland is a ruthless finisher, he might not quite reach Ibra's heights but if he makes the right career choice he might surpass him in terms of achievement

There more I watch Mbappe the less I want him. Give me Haaland and Kulusevski if e becomes WC at RW which i think he wull

There's no way, how much would it cost to get both? Realistically I'm talking about next summer. Mbappe the ninja turtle is more marketable than ugly Hochland so I'm sure Perez prefers the frenchie.

Haaland has a release clause at 70 mil and Mbappe’s contract is ending summer 2022 and he is not renewing. As of next summer it’s not that crazy unless PSG wants to lose him for free.

I don’t feel losing one of the kids (due to Mbappe arrival) is a concern. We have enough talented kids in competition, that it’s inevitable that some won’t make it into the starting squad. The losers will either fetch a good sale price or become bench strength.

So not only is it feasible and affordable, it completes our most glaring needs in going after both Mbappe and Haaland next summer.

And Real is gonna get Mbappe after all and dominate for the next decade, while Barca can only look on with envy after Messi goes if next summer too, feck.
