It would be great. The Napoli-Liverpool match, and this one, were great. Top level play even if teams are incomplete in this phase of the season.

I like seeing Sarri (with us) face against Carlo and Siemone two weeks in a row, same would be nice against Klopp. He has to grow away from a "one way of playing" style he used with Napoli and so far he is showing this flexibility against these big teams. Which is really interesting and encouraging

Klopp will surely find ways to have good performance and still not win because Liverpool's players are still mentally weak for an away win.
But we can still rely on our special European nights and might be able to progress but surely it will hell of a contest to play against Atletico or Juventus.

Why is it I keep getting the feeling Pjanic can be such a weak spot in Juve at times? This game it was clear he couldnt compete with the pace and physical side of things. I guess many cant they way Atletico played, but this is just one example, I have lost count how many times in the CL biggest stages where he just couldnt step up? I appreciate his all round game and strengths, but still...

Was a hugely entertaining game though, Atletico pretty much their typical self, and looks like they will be able to sustain their level with this half new team. Juve similarly also with so many changes. This gonna be quite different Juve though u feel compared to the days with 3 at the back and defensively so good, but u have Danilo in a back 4 ffs, u gonna concede a lot of goals Razz

What a finish Higuain.

Jonathan Tah makes a big mistake in letting him capitalise on an airball and out witting him to the space in the box Higgy rifles it past the GK in the far left corner.

2nd half starts now.

Question for Juventini here is there any evidence of Cristiano speaking italiano? If so share.

If not I would be surprised he hasn't caught up given how professional he is and how quickly he picked up English and Spanish and was fluent in it and Italian for a romance language speaker is easier than most as it is.

Struggling to see what Bernardeschi brings to this team

No end product, no creativity, living off one or two good games in the past

Looking like another failed Italian 'talent'

Not impressed by Leverkusen at all today. Predictable play and attempts to merely out muscle Juventus midfield to get through to their defence to which is already shored well by the Bonucci-de Ligt to which is improving game by game thr the most entertaining CB partnership in Europe this season.

As i type Bernadeschi scores made by the Higuain Ronaldo combination to which is near telepathic by now.

Surprised Surag fails to see the positional difference Berna has been put in compared to what does work for him as he has struggled this season short on confidence but this has been a brighter match for him in more ways than one. Neat finish as well. Dybala should replace him at this moment within the game, though.

De Ligt has been impeccable since coming back to the lineup. Great match tonight

Shout out to Cuadrado who has done everything to be our #1 RB. Beautiful games at fullback.

The quality of play from Juventus in the last 20 mins has been so high I cannot remember the last time they played this aesthetically and be this dominant. Sarri is a stubborn man but his plan does seem to be coming into play.

Cristiano despite no goal has been such a presence up front it's a marvel to see what he has matured into.

de Ligt looks more confident than ever and seems to have the swagger in his signature run that I rememeber in Ajax and Bonucci's command of him is very interesting to watch.

Ronaldo has been extremely unlucky not to score and this goes beyond just this game but a handful of them this season.

Clearly needs that one goal to spark his streak, as we should learn by now.

Ramsey on for Bernadeschi who's off for a deserved ovation from the Allianz crowd.

Odd change as this may change into an 4-3-1-2 I suppose to also support a newly subbed Bentancur.

It was already a 4312. Bernardeschi was pressing Leverkusen's first ball from the back all over the defense, not fixed to a wing. He had a 'free' role with a heavy workload

It's the same formation but at this point with more space Ramsey can be his creative self instead of needing a player there to press Leverkusen so much

I was wondering how it really did not resemble a 4-3-3 and clearly resembled a far more fluid 4-3-1-2 and that transition has been the best part of a very collective Juventus threat and no coincidence why Bernadeschi for the second game in a row performs well with more freedom, rather than being restricted out wide.

Cristiano gets his deserved goal. Keyword: Deserved.

A one two with subbed on Dybala leaves CR free in between the Leverkusen defenders yet this time he doesn't let the GK get the better of him after three saved shots and blasts it past him to the left.

Unbelievable performance from Juve today I'm seething with envy.

All three starring forwards score, Leverkusen reduced to 0 shots on target.

Great sensations from this match

FT 3-0 and by Juve's play it could have been 6-0. Very underwhelming by Bosz's team and the much hyped Havertz even since he was spoken of much before the game.

Sarri's side tonight are parallel with de Ligt's rise in stature and confidence through the beginning of this season. Began shaky and self-doubting but have begun to find their mark and a lot more to clearly come. Best performance of the season by a mile.

Havertz who ? Laughing

The defense was solid, good creativity, good end product. Some miraculous save prevented a brace by Ronaldo. Higuain efficient again. Cuadrado defends well enough to be starter RB. Bernardeschi has woken up and he is a factor of success now. In other words: a great match.

I read somewhere that, since the majority of his team mates at Juve speak either English or Spanish, those are the languages he uses to communicate with them. I don't know if he's released any interviews in italian recently. I tried googling it, but couldn't find anything.

He speaks Italian, at least some. Soon after arriving he tried it out for the cameras, and has done it in videos and interviews every once in a while (he doesnt give a lot interviews or pre match conferences).

It would be weird if he hadn't picked it up already since he speaks Portuguese and Spanish as well.

I didn't watch the match, but it seems to me that match ratings are just as much based on circumstances as they are on individual performance levels. A goalkeeper could save everything that comes their way, but still end up with an underwhelming match rating because they didn't have a lot to do. In order to achieve a perfect match rating as a defender; typically, they'd have to score a goal in addition to being up against a team that coincidentally allows that defender to outshine their defensive partners.
