Rob Holding is better IMO.

But let's see how he leads United. Immense pressure on him. Not every mid table club player steps up when moving to a big club. Luckily he is just going side ways.

I think he's decent. But I don't think he's an 80m improvement on Smalling.

But like others have said - maybe the team was holding him back and he'll only get better.

What a deal..............for Leicester. I heard their fans are jumping with joy. Hope whomever them cnuts are after as a replacement, they get taken to absolute cleaners.

Coming to Maguire, he would have been a decent acquisition for a max 50 mil but for this kind of money, his every mistake will become big headline. Hope the guy has big balls to weather the storm he's going to face.

Desperately looking for positives now, he brings leadership to our backline more than anything, something we have lacked since the times of Vidic and Ferdinand. Plus he is better than Lindelof in ball playing and better than Smalling in aerial prowess. He will be an upgrade, that's for sure, but certainly not an 80 mil upgrade, and that's the problem.

I mean, I still maintain he is a far better defender than those two knuckle heads Utd currently possess so it's just a matter of finding out which of Jones & Smalling would be less of a calamity. Or they can use Hala's cousin.

He'd be worth 30 if Colombia won the shootouts a year ago.

He's a good player, but the price is ridiculous. United had to pay that extra fee because there weren't many great CBs on the market. I think he'll do well for them though

Maguire is a mediocre player, nothing special, kind of bad actually.

I know we make fun of slabhead's price and all, but all the top PL teams had that one CB who was a beast in the air.

Terry, Vidic, Kompany, and Van Dijk now.

He may not reach those heights, but I do think he'll come good. An English CB with that quality + the ability to carry the ball was always going to cost loads.

You guys don't understand the most important thing about him. He is BRITISH. When Boris takes a leap off the precipice and delivers Brexit with no deal, all EU players will become automatically disqualified to work. But united have thought ahead.
